Breathing Nightmare
Breathing Nightmare Chapter 2 Most of us hadn’t slept in two days now but in the morning we heard news that the swelling in Mallorys brain had gone down a fraction, we held out much hope this would be the start of a holiday miracle, and as Matt and I reached the landing the crowd had dispersed.

A Breathing Nightmare
A Breathing Nightmare (This is not my story to tell, but I’ll do my best, people need to know) I never bring my phone to bed, for any call in the middle of the night just plain sucks. No one has ever called me at 2:00 AM to tell me I’ve won the Publishers Clearinghouse Sweepstakes, nah, bringing the phone to bed is begging for trouble.

The Untold Story
The yearning and urge to write were eating at Sandy. More importantly, the desire to tell a story, true in nature, that revolved solely around her best friend Mae and her husband Tom begged to be written to set the record straight and right a wrong. She normally wrote fictional stories that carried the reader to far-reaching locations and inevitably included mystery, plots, romance, love, or even controversy. Her heart raced and her emotions pumped as each idea formed and words tumbled over one another as if vying for inclusion running through her like a fast-moving river.

Mr. Can
The room was blue, a pale blue and the man sitting there in the chair in the back corner of the room was worried that he was not going to be believed, that his story was not good enough to free him from the bonds that bind him. He sat there cuffed to the table, the metal table made a clinging noise like a pot falling on a linoleum floor. The sound was the only thing that was heard. There was no one entering the room from the door on the right, his sight limited to one hundred eighty degrees, where if he were able to spin there would be something more. There was however an open window on the left with bars dropping down on the remaining three. Why was the window open? He thought. But there too, he was awaiting an answer from someone.

I believe we are all masters of trivia. We all pick things up from simply existing in society, and many tidbits remain with us whether we want them to take up space in our brain or not. I am fairly certain that when I am 90, I will still remember that Jeremy Irons was the voice of Scar in “The Lion King” (which has the added irony that I have NO idea who Jeremy Irons is and could not pick him out of a line-up). In grad school in New Jersey, I impressed my friends at bar trivia by knowing that earthquake are measured on the Richter scale; but having grown up in Washington State, this was a fairly common topic of conversation.

scammers inc.
SCAMMERS INC. Scamming people is an art form, a creative seducing skill that leads individuals down a sorrowful, regretful, and angry path. I have been down that road, though fortunately, I have lost little money. My pride, however, was severely damaged. It could have been devastating. My marriage may well have been affected, the relationship with my children might have ended. But like a chronic gambler or an alcoholic, I told lies to hide my wayward journey into the licentiousness of possibly ill-gotten gains or losses.
