The policy
"Fuck that shit, I am not going to sell this book to anyone! Leave it alone, and leave my study, now. " That small leather black book, texture so rich and smooth in my hand, disappeared quickly from my grip, the smell of old leather disappeared from under me. I looked up and straight into the eyes of the most brilliant man I know. Or I thought I knew.

Cursed Little Black Book
This has been the worst damn week of my life! Matter of fact, it has been the worst month ever. And all because of that damn little black book. It all started when I helped my friend clear out this old house, she had been wanting to remodel. You see this house was old and creepy, and I didn't have a really good feeling about it but I helped her anyway. Pulling up to this house was like something out of a nightmare or Freddy Krueger. I was half expecting to find a boiler room in the basement when we went down there to get all that stuff out of there. Thank God there wasn't one, or I'm pretty sure I would have run screaming.

Stolen
“Stolen” Snow gave under foot as I made my way toward the yellow beast, the only sound the crunch of boots perforating the icy layer. I took an unsatisfying pull from my coffee, now cold. It’s going to be a long day, I thought, climbing into the cage. Turning the key, I sat back to survey the area for a few moments while the engine sputtered to life. The beginning of sunlight threw glimmers across the terrain below and I hoped it would warm the frigid air.

My Treasure
Detective Andre Duclair rushed past the frosted window and knelt on the rough fireplace bricks to ignite the kindling. Closing the spark-screen with trembling fingers, he stepped back and watched flames grow as he wriggled out of his soaking trousers.

My boyfriend won a cooking competition
Something is going on with Patrick. Ever since he entered this cooking competition, it’s always just him and his little black notebook. Learching over the pages and writing with such vigor he might start a friction fire. I mean, I’M his girlfriend. The least he can do is pay attention to me just a little bit. His “Bailey burrito” requires some much needed attention. That’s the pet name he gave me. “Bailey burrito” yeah, vomit inducing isn’t it? Hah, only a chef would come up with that, I suppose. Though, I do want him to win. I mean, $20,000 usd?! That’s some cash we could really use right now. But ..something has been “off” I guess. It’s hard to describe. He’s got these, dark, black rings around his eyes. So much so, he’s beginning to resemble a panda.

May the truth set you free
So I sit here and all I can think of is that little black book. I believe I was about fifteen years old when I started showing signs of depression. I wasn't hanging out with friends as much and my grades had started to drop. Well at the age of sixteen I started seeing a counselor at school. She asked if I liked to write and so of course I said yes. One day during one of our sessions she handed me a little black book and said, "Here, I want you to have this. Write down your thoughts and feelings for the rest of the school year and before the last day if you feel up to it we can look over a few pages together."

Dead Man Sitting
Jeffrey sat slumped on the lower bunk of his cell, staring at his hands in silence. His attorney lifted the creases in his trouser legs a fraction, then sat on the only chair in the small, close room. He was accustomed to the smell of latrines and sweaty clothes. He often met his clients in their cells but not usually so late in the evening.
