"Thank You"
The storm hit in drenching waves, the rain pummeling her skin, sharp as needles. A respite from the boiling heat for the first few drops, alarm replaced relief as muddy rivulets raced down the decrepit road before her. The current pulled on her ankles, and then her shins in short order.

Utopia
Sarah looked out across the cracked earth that surrounded the city. Ironic that the city was once a reflection of the name, Utopia. The drought had drug on and on. For seven years Sarah and her parents had prayed for rain. She and her mother and father watched the city turn from a prospering city to a veritable wasteland. Lost in her thoughts, Sarah did not hear her mother’s call.

A Bumper Crop of Baby Mockingbirds
April. I get out of my gray car, and a gray bird with claws out takes a dive for the back of my head. It’s that time of year again in southeast Louisiana. Fledgling Northern Mockingbird time. A time of claws and noisy unmusical squeaks and adorable spotty youngsters who think they can tell their parents what to do and when to do it.

Dancing Lights in the Night
Last night I was sitting on my back porch enjoying a cigar. It is an unhealthy habit I know, but I find it relaxing. It also helps to clear my mind. It gives me a way to let go of the stress and focus my thoughts elsewhere. It was about 8:30 pm, right at dusk as the darkness of night crept upon me in between the evening rain showers. I could smell the crisp freshly fallen rain in the air. Mixed with the smell of my Oliva Serie G Maduro, I was truly in a state serenity and relaxation.

The Mountains, Trees, Lake, and I.
Rising early in the morning on a summer day, my only plans stand between me and the road ahead. The first step off the brittle, wooden porch stairs that are slightly dampened with morning dew is the first step towards what is the most beautiful, serene sight in all of my memories. Dried pine needles layered on top of dirt lead the way to my destination.

Tragically Speaking
The craziest part about being crazy is that you’re not “crazy” but you are actually in fact completely sane and have dealt with all of life’s imperfections to such a limit where it interferes with your stability and outlook on life. Which causes the result of being looked or frowned upon as being a crazy being. I’m afraid to admit this but I am so sane it makes my brain shut down and my being too sad to think concept comes into the light. Once again I am writing of global issues and it would be wrong of me to not address them to then see if “anybody” will use my knowledge to benefit the world from the things I have to say. I have to say: it’s not fair that we allow money to conquer the aspects of saving another’s life. I mean when people can’t afford their help not only is it chokeholding their will to live a better life but it is also closing down the possible doors and chances of peace arising in our home of planet earth.

the Last DNA
How did we get to… the Last DNA the child asked? Rachael began with according to legend early in the 21 st century a teacup chihuahua named Mr. Jolly deemed first to bring it to the attention of a Human. Mr. Jolly telepathically stated ‘what Humans call DNA four legged and those with wings calls it scent’. Yep! It’s that simple and how it all began.

A Tornado in England?
England is known for its weather. That weather usually consists of an overcast grey sky and lots of rain. Tornados are not usually an issue! However, today in Barking, London, a tornado touched down and caused considerable damage. Luckily no one was injured, from what I have heard.

Tasmania's Gift to Life
A family of mountain Wallabies rests in the day's warmth, stretched out on large hot boulders along the riverbed. A small herd of Deer have come down to lap at the clear flowing water, and to graze upon the green grasses. Snakes are swimming in the freezing mountain waters flowing in from the Ben Lomond Ski Resort. They are territorial, and it is unusual for other snakes to encroach upon another's territory.
