Keeping the Kids Home
Ah, winter in Canada. It can be a beautiful and fun thing, but it can also wreak havoc on the school system. Depending on what region you live in and how intense the winter is, buses could be cancelled fairly often. This disrupts learning and progress for students, but it is largely unavoidable.

High-Risk Inner Students Systematically Doomed to Street Life?
I was always the quiet girl, lurking in the background of every school that I attended in my youth. I didn’t make many friends; I had terrible facial eczema, I was chubby and extremely nonverbal in social situations. However, I was always acutely aware of my surroundings. When I was in the sixth grade, I started feeling the pain of my peers; it melded with my own and weighed heavily on my spirit. I suffered in silence as they acted out and I watched as they were disciplined or discarded as troubled children with no potential.

Motivational Teaching - Motivated Students #2
“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” Benjamin Franklin If you retrospect to school years, how would you describe that period of time? Joy, fun, pleasure?... Or, maybe, boredom, tiredness, stress?...

Passing Exams
The first and most important step is to understand and truly believe that tests do not measure how smart you are. The only thing they measure is your ability to answer questions in a subject area. They do not predict whether you will be able to do a job nor do they predict how well you will be able to do your job. It’s just questions and answers. I’ll say it again…tests do not measure how smart you are.

Am I Stupid for Dropping Out?
Have I made the most fatal mistake of my life? After three successful years of university, I dropped out. I had a good reason (one that you don't really need to know about), but I was still surrounded by shame. I dropped out right in time for me to graduate. One more year, and I would have completed my undergrad. Another year after that, I would have earned my teaching degree. But despite all of that, I dropped out anyway. Am I a loser?

How To Survive Your First Semester at Uni. Top Story - January 2018.
Having only been at uni for one semester, it seems a bit pointless to write something like this as I am probably just as clueless as people who haven't gone to uni yet, but I know that if I had read something like this there would definitely be a few things I would've done differently.

School
School is either that awesome period of your life where you make a ton of friends who will stand by you your whole life, or it can become one of the loneliest places on the planet and can give you depression and anxiety. There is no in between. The grades and the classes you study are like the small print in the terms and conditions. The people around you and the emotions they ensue are what really affect you.

College Degree vs. Skill Set
South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, Nelson Mandela, has been attributed to saying, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world". (Strauss, 2013). Not many would argue with this statement; however, what is meant by the term "education" could be debated. The google dictionary defines education as "the process of receiving or giving systematic instruction, especially at a school or university". The exact same source also defines education as "an enlightening experience". Dictionary.com defines education as "the act or process of imparting or acquiring particular knowledge or skills, as for a profession". As one can see, there are many variations of the definition of education. Just as numerous are the avenues deemed acceptable for attaining a proper education. Education is key to success; education is key to changing the world.

Single Mum Study Time
OK, so how did I get to being a mature student? Well, let me tell you, there is a stigma attached to being a stay at home mum; some say that you aren't willing to work, others say how easy life must be. It's not, and most single mums out there will know that, when a child is having a day of it (throwing a tantrum), mentally, you're better off at work, LOL.

A Fifth Grade Nightmare
This was maybe two weeks ago. I got a new fifth grader, a sweet boy. Sadly, some of my troublemaker boys had gotten to him and were not exactly the best of influences on him. He started acting out a bit in class. Nothing too bad, but he was definitely acting different.
