These restrictions left many Germans feeling humiliated and resentful towards the other European powers, particularly France and Great Britain.During the 1920s and early 1930s, Germany went through a period of political and economic instability, which paved the way for the rise of the Nazi Party and its leader, Adolf Hitler. Hitler came to power in 1933 and immediately began to expand Germany's military and territorial ambitions, violating the terms of the Treaty of Versailles.
