Flight Attendants

We Both are at Blogs Year The widely held belief that flight attendants are crammed full of fascinating tales from their escapades in the air is not without foundation. I recently posted a callout on Man Repeller's Instagram calling for volunteers to interview for a position as a flight attendant. I received so many responses that it was impossible for me to choose just one. Instead, I requested that each lady who emailed me relate her most startling experience, and boy, did they give. Read their responses below, then join me in the comments section to discuss (with your mouth open, I guarantee).

Kids Enjoying in the Plane

The Traveler Who Got Locked in a Bathroom

According to Mary, a 28-year-old Florida flight attendant. It all began as an ordinary day for a flight attendant working in Miami. It was a steamy, hot summer day with a high temperature of 100 degrees. The air was salty. My pantyhose had the impression that they were fusing with my flesh. I made it off the staff shuttle, passed through security, and checked in using my tablet while attempting to work the terminal like a rock star. That day, the boarding procedure wasn't too difficult. It may be rather chaotic at times, as I'm sure some of you who have traveled a lot are aware. We were prepared to go after everyone had boarded and the doors were closed, or so I believed. I abruptly heard a voice from the front of the aircraft, "Uh, hey, we can't leave, we have someone who is stuck inside the toilet."

I dispatched another flight attendant to the back to determine the situation in detail. Sure enough, someone was stuck in the bathroom. We were making every effort to blend in, but it was failing. Nothing we tried, even pulling on the passenger's arms, worked. We eventually understood that we required maintenance. We also phoned the captain, who came back from the cockpit to see for himself since he didn't believe what was occurring. He took a beating.

A two-hour delay was caused by the entire incident. Naturally, the other travelers were not pleased, and as usual, they were venting their frustration on the flight attendants. How could I explain to 134 passengers on board the aircraft that someone was sucked into our toilet after flushing while seated? The toilet head was removed by maintenance, who came to the passenger's aid. Even though it was embarrassing for the passenger, the flight attendants and I were stunned. You should not flush the toilet on an airplane while you are still seated on it, so please keep that in mind if you are reading this.

The Relationship That Almost Never Happened

According to Erin, a 30-year-old Toronto flight attendant. I'm employed by a little regional airline. I once had a 24-hour stopover in Newark on a flight. I merely brought a hoodie, some leggings, and a pair of Vans because I knew I would be staying at an airport motel with nothing amusing in the area. I was working with a friend, and our goal was to order room service, catch up, and watch crappy TV in one of our hotel rooms.

The plane was packed, and the travel to Newark only took an hour. I was conversing with a really cute person who was sitting in the back row during boarding. The talk was routine (how many flights I do each day, etc.), and I brought up my upcoming 24-hour stay in Newark. The passenger very casually encouraged my coworker and I to join him on his trip to New York, where he was actually going to meet some pals at a large gathering. Given the items in my suitcase, I gently declined, but we swapped numbers (in my mind, simply out of politeness). As we were texting after checking into the hotel, he reassured me that it would be a very laid-back "loft party" and asked that we let him know if we changed our minds. Knowing that nobody present was someone we knew or would ever see again, we made the decision early in the evening to just go ahead and do it. He said, "Great," when I told him we had changed our minds. Send a car, please. Say what? A car? We dismissed it.

We were in a black town vehicle one hour later. I made a small amount of effort to put on some hair and makeup in addition to the leggings, sweaters, and sneakers that I was sporting. Simply inform the doorman that you're come to see Josh, according to a text message I received. When we arrived, it appeared to be an old warehouse. It was by no means an apartment. A small group of persons entered, all of them were immaculately attired. Once inside, it became immediately apparent that we weren't dressed appropriately.

The gathering went on all night. With the passenger who invited us, I had the nicest time. It was quite passionate. To spend some time alone, we even crept out onto the roof. The celebration was so perfectly lovely, held in the most stunning location, and had so many gorgeous, well-dressed guests that it seemed like a scene from a motion picture. My companion and I had to stop drinking at four in the morning because it is against the regulations for flight crews to consume alcohol within eight hours of flying an aircraft, yet we still managed to become disoriented. We abruptly realized it was almost seven in the morning. We hopped in a cab even though the party was still going since we needed to be back in Newark by noon. Our captain was coming down for breakfast when we ran into him as we were returning to our hotel. Since neither of us smokes, we had to make up the story that we were going for a cigarette, and to make it appear even more casual, we joined him for breakfast while still wearing our clothing and cosmetics from the previous night.

We had breakfast, then showered and prepared for another flight day. As much of a no-no as operating without sleep is, we were young and nothing a lot of coffee couldn't remedy. I hid in the galley to drink all the coffee and avoid dealing with the big luggage as our passengers boarded. I entered the aisle after everyone had taken their seats to assist in locking the overhead storage. I heard my name around halfway through the cabin. I looked back and there was the passenger! I experienced some self-consciousness because I left the party without telling him. I didn't want to bid the man I'd just spent the nicest night with farewell. His appearance on the return flight astounded me. To prevent any of my other coworkers from overhearing, I made an effort to keep our conversation quick and professional. I quickly texted him to explain my behavior after returning to the galley.

We texted once we were on the plane. He requested to visit me again after learning that we are both from the same city. Short version: I've been dating him for three years now!
