Family-themed art is a look into one's living room; it depicts celebration, crises, and the quiet moments of familial interactions.
Snipping Memories
When the packaging fell away and I slipped into Her hand for the very first time, I became Her trusty sidekick. My shiny orange handle fit perfectly in Her grip. I could tell by the pressure in Her enthusiasm that we were a perfect pair. The name on my blade was Fiskars, but She gave me a name of my very own. She called me Snippy.

Happiness in a Box
As a mother of 8, I’m always looking for things to create that are fun and that give me a chance to be able to also give happiness to others in my painting obsession. Plus it’s also nice to have that little get away of time to just enjoy myself and what I love to do, and that’s paint. I really love to paint anything, well except for walls LOL. I also love peacocks and flamingos! So what better thing to do than to paint what I love and what others are passionate about as well.

SERENITY
March 2020, the world had forever changed due to COVID 19. We were afraid to leave our houses. Online ordering increased, especially for food delivery, from the supermarket and whichever fast-food store was open and delivering. Children were staying at home, doing virtual school. My daughter included and she had just quit her part time, weekend job at an amusement park. School hours were 10am to 4 pm Mon to Fri, week in, week out. I wanted to give my daughter something to combat the boredom and monotony, of what her life had become. She was always artistic, and I had seen it on social media, it was inexpensive and all parts were included. I answered the add, ordered the kit and waited with bated breath for it to come in the mail. I was more excited for it's arrival than my daughter. . And the day came..in a long, narrow rectangular box was my anticipation.. GLASS BEADING KIT!!! I opened it, didn't even give her the chance to have the honor. A sticky mat, with a colorful, numbered diagram and corresponding numbered bags of colorful beads. The placement tool, with accompanied tip attachments, sticky putty and a set of narrow-tipped tweezers and a tray to hold the glass gems to make bead retrieval easier. I was so excited, opened it on the table and encouraged my daughter to join in. I also had purchased an additional tool kit, so we bead-simultaneously. This should and could be an Olympic Sport.

The Game is Afoot
Crafting is a solitary endeavor. While the final products are gifted and shared and passed down, the act of creation happens alone. Hours spent slicing fabric and fingers with blades you guard with your life and threaten bodily harm should someone else DARE cut their hair with the fabric scissors or trim the bonsai with the detailing paper scissors. Gluing, sewing, sanding, punching done in just the right form with just the right materials creates art.

Adaptation
Pitter-patter, pitter-patter, I hear her footsteps rapidly approaching. Eagerly, my three year old daughter exclaims "I want to help!" Any moment I find to work on my art I know it is only a matter of time before she wants to "help mommy." Shortly after, a loud squeal pierces the air as one of my twin 7 month old daughters reminds me it's time to eat. I look over and the other twin has spit up all over herself. Studio time is not as easy to come by as it once was, even finding a moment alone to brush my teeth can be a challenge! After becoming a mother of three, I knew I would have to get creative if I wanted to be able to continue making art.

Why does anybody need SIX pair of scissors?!
Let me tell you why… It was a wonderful spring morning. The barn was full of soft filtered light with a group of Angora goats to greet me. On the wall covered in a full year of dust, Scissors number one, my 100-year-old shearing scissors waiting for their next use. My goats standing before me hoping to be the first to have their heavy coats of hair cut from their bodies. I set out for a day of haircuts to turn them from a bunch of mop heads into a coiffured bunch of beauties.

Creative baking
hello everyone my name is Angela, I’m 36 years old with two beautiful children and a part time job .. but this isn’t where my story starts .. it all started when I was about 9 years old , during Christmas time my mother had her good’ol fashioned cookie recipe as always .. this was about the age she taught me to bake amongst other crafty things, I fell in love. Baking became absolutely fascinating to me .. I want to say by the age of 12 I was already learning to bake and use an oven properly .. at this moment ill never for get my first time trying to make homemade oatmeal cookies, I thought I had used the proper ingredients as needed I was so proud of my self at this point thinking wow I’m ganna have the hole family so proud of me too as I popped my balled up oatmeal cookies in the oven as a few min passed thinking I was baking as the time needed .. I took out my cookies from the oven only to notice they where still in large balls and very hot at this point as I try to smoosh them down .. I let them sit and cool as I looked for my mother in the house wanting to know y my cookies didn’t bake properly .. she came to the kitchen to notice my cookies still in a ball shape .. she asked what did you do .. of course I said I don’t know I thought I put all the proper ingredients I needed she giggled as she picked one up and said these are hard as a rock my family laughed .. it was hard to take in and a let down wanting to make the perfect cookies all by my self at the age of 12 .. but my mom just told me it’s ur first try practice makes perfect almost wanting to give up I didn’t, I pursued baking for the next few years as well as arts and crafts creating curing and glueing all kinds of this together for creative decorating .. by the time I graduated high school I felt like a professional decorating and baking for family birthday party’s .. by the time I had my first child in 2007 baking slowed down for me as having a full time job and child wasn’t easy but I never gave up my dreams a few years later I decided weekends would be my time to bake .. but all this baking was going no where and my family was burned out on all my sweet treats , so I decided to make a lil extra cash and do a bake sale but the honest truth is I was more excited for pe to try my baking then making money to the point where I would most of the time give my treats away for free instead of selling them , it made me feel so good inside. I eventually decided to move my bake sale to the streets I would be everywhere I walked in parking lots in side small business offering my treats at a low low price almost free .. at this point I’ve become so popular in my neighborhood that’s I had made business cards and the orders started rolling In, I couldn’t believe it the most happiest baking moment of my life .. although life has not been easy for me moving twice a year where ever I could afforded from state to state I never gave up on my dreams to own my own baking shop one day till this day I’m still working twords my dreams getting closer and closer and I’ve also have found ways to be creative enough to emerge my baking and my crafting all into one .. people from all over love my creative ideas , and deep down inside that makes me feel amazing to know people out there really love my stuff .. just know this, no matter how hard life gets for you or how old you are it’s never to late to give up on what makes you happy even if it’s not perfect because what might not be perfect to you in someone else’s eyes it’s a masterpiece. Practice makes perfect .. and baking is my happy and that alone is perfect enough . Thank you 🥰

Framing A Life
We are all different; we did not fit in with the everyday household scissors, cutting open plastic and packages. We simply waited on the store shelf for the right, right-handed person to unleash our creative abilities. Eventually, a man came along in the craft store and plucked us from the shelf, all of us.
