True Love
I can remember, from my much younger days, falling in love, over and over again. I fell in love with dogs, toys, movies, fishing, and a mud pie I made one afternoon while playing in the yard. I’m not referring to the love you feel with another person, but rather a thing, an object, a passion. It may seem I let my heart roam free, but that’s not always a bad thing.

Benefits of Kids Participating in Sports from a Young Age
Introduction Growing up, everyone has partaken in some sort of sport at one point in their lives even if they hadn’t continued it for an extended amount of time. During those points, they could recall the sense of blood rushing through their body, the exhilarating sensation that accompanied the sense of satisfaction. Every breath in those moments, being one of relief. There’s positivity there as long as you do so with good company.

5 Fun Winter Activities for Families
Does your family have a case of the winter blahs? Just because the weather is cold doesn't mean that you can't get outside and have fun. In fact, there are activities that you can only do during the winter when the snow falls and the ice forms.

Catalena
This is my beautiful niece Catalena. She was born in 2013, and she has Down’s syndrome. To me she is priceless. She had a heart condition. We didn’t know if she’d make it. It was terrifying. My sister was amazing staying by her side through all the surgeries.

A Treasured Afternoon
The pink iridescent fabric of her cape shimmered as a slight breeze picked up and the plastic jewel of her crown caught the mid-afternoon sun. Golden hair rested on her cheek, falling loose from the braid which I had plaited with such care that morning but was now wild from a day of rambunctious play. Though often sparkling with mischief, her eyes were serious and concentrated. She was on the hunt.

to my future child.
Hello, you, Today I was thinking about you. I was working on a project, soon to be the one to determine whether my success may start, and I thought of you. I thought about the empire I am building for you; the world I am constructing to support you as you grow into the beautiful human you will be born to be. I was thinking about all the love I already have for you, and how much it grows every day.

Another Letter To My Little Girl
To my Guardian Angel, Hello again Gigi, it has been a little while since I last took the time to write to you. I'm not going to lie, the last year has been a rough one. For reasons of which I am not aware, your mother has only allowed for me to see you a little over half a dozen times. I need you to know that the entire time I have been forced to be without you has really taken a toll on me. It feels like I have missed out on so much of your life. Like I have been robbed of a boat load of time that I will never be able to get back. Whats even worse is that during this period of my life (the lowest point it has ever been at) I allowed myself to be a victim, what would prove to be one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. First your mother left me and then she took you away from me too. All of it caused me a great deal of suffering but instead of picking it up and bearing it, as the great Jordan Peterson advised, I allowed myself to be crushed underneath the weight of it. A depressing story... I know! But the good part about it is that I did not permit the circumstances to end there.

How I Got My Lazy Kid to Clean Up
Right around the ripe old age of 13, my son concluded that I wasn’t very bright. It took me a while to notice this because he never actually said it. Something was telling in the tone of his long drawn out sighs and the tenor of his voice when he said, “Muuuuuuuum!”

Why Reading Out to Your Child is Important
It’s official. Reading out to your children right from a young age since the time they’re toddlers goes a really long way. There is now sufficient research to prove the invaluable importance that the habit of reading holds for young minds. And this comes at an absolutely ripe time when children are actually getting distracted from books and attracted to moving visuals in the form of videos, television, games, and other digital gadgets.

A Letter To My Child
‘There’s a silver tint on the cloud of doubt when it comes to parenting.’ I wonder if every mom randomly cries because they’re fearful of doing parenting wrong. Do all mums and dads get nervous of their child getting badly influenced. It seems a little early for me to have these thoughts, especially as my child isn’t even a teenager. I do believe that influence can happen at any age but for different circumstances.

Every Mom Needs A Break
I know all moms are with me, when I say that I've had my fair share of bad days where I wish I could just run away, and can't. I have two tiny humans that rely on me for everything every single day, that most of the time I forget to take care of myself. Being a stay at home mom isn't for everyone, and I'm not ashamed to admit it when I say it's definitely not for me. I became a stay at home mom when I found out I was pregnant with my second son. I thought it was going to be great being home with both of my children and not having to put them in daycare. It was great at first, now here I am three years later and I try to work whenever I can, just to get some adult interaction. Every mom deserves a break. Work isn't it.
