Baking With Ghosts
One can tell the difference in the taste in food that was just thrown together and food that was prepared with love. My Omi was a prime example of the latter, when she cooked for her family. Her gift, however, was honed in service to the Austrian aristocracy. Before she retired and I was born, she mastered her craft as the head cook for the House of Habsburg in the region of Austria that she lived in, Upper Austria - Salzkammergut, which is about an hour east of Salzburg.

Is Halloween 2020 Canceled?
Halloween in 2020. Is Halloween Canceled This Year? With all of the recent events in the world; between the pandemic, craziness, and violence that fills our cities and towns, we have to seriously ask this question. That question is, will we even have a Halloween this year? Obviously; the day itself will still roll around, but will October 31st still look like the holiday that many of us so love? Will there be kids trick or treating? Will people leave their houses to buy candy to give out? Can we even trust anything that is given by strangers? I hope so.

Living The Dream
As I sit this morning at my laptop, my children divided between their respective devices (roll on the new school term), with an episode of Ru Paul playing in the background that I've seen at least five times, I find myself looking around my living room with pride.

Tie Dye For Kids
Going into 2020 I had imagined life would change, little did I know how much it would. After covid-19 hit and the schools all shut down I had to find ways to keep my kids from driving me crazy. Well, some things didn’t get done, some things were done incorrectly, and some things were forgotten, but that is par for the course for party hosting at our house. We are nearly good at it, I guess.

Got Eggs? Plastic Eggs?
Well It's here . April 12th is creeping upon on us. With the world in a bit of a tailspin from the COVID-19 outbreak I'm sure many people are saddened by cancelled plans and the inability to spend the upcoming holiday with family. For families with young kids this has put parents into a new position of having to try and keep up with the holiday and make it special for our kid's as we have the years previous. For myself and a friend of mine our youngests kid's birthdays fall on the 12th as well. So this year there is extra fun happening.
