The Current Effects of Evolution on Our Christmas Traditions
Nostalgic but Fond Memories Today I received a video through my Facebook Messenger. The video is about a Christmas tradition in Puerto Rico. This tradition is a “parranda.” It brought many memories from when I was young. It was also very nostalgic for us - my husband included. We enjoyed the full 7-minute video and reminisced about that time in our lives.

Christmas
During the holidays there are some of us that have a hard time. It might be something as simple as finding a Christmas gift. For others, it can be something greater, such as finding the Christmas spirit when they feel that there is no reason to be happy or celebrate.

Superpowers
I have a lot to say, but I may struggle just a little trying to get it all out. This story is not just hard to explain, but hard for someone with a closed mind to believe. So just hang in there because what I'm about to tell you will have to be broken into more understandable pieces.

Why Am I Not Grateful?
When my mother, who I was estranged from for twenty-eight years, said she’d rather leave her house to me than my sister I must admit I was tempted to grab her in a bear hug and dance around the room with her! Yet, I stopped to consider my younger sister, who is both poor at keeping in touch and won’t have much of a pension due to spending twenty-two years of her life not working at the behest of her controlling baby daddy. I too, in the past, have been hopeless at remembering close family birthdays, and friends’ birthdays stood even less chance of being remembered. I try harder these days.

Christmas Memories
Christmas Memories I remember when Christmas the holiday used to be fun and joyous. Not so commercialized like it is today. You used to enjoy time with your family and friends. Sometimes it was a time for old friends you have not seen in a long time to come around. Reminisce about days long past. Children now a days would not know of what is was like before. All they seem to look forward to is what will they get under the tree.

The Life of a Misunderstood Women
I always hated school, not because I didn’t know how to do the class work given to me, but because I always felt like teachers abused their authority as teachers. They would intentionally provoke our characters and try to get a reaction from us just so we can fear that they would tell our parents. But little did they know, that even though in my time a phone call from a teacher would lead to physical discipline from parents, once our parents would receive so much phone calls, they would eventually get tired of it and ignore them all and we eventually use that against the teachers. At least i did!

The Beginning Part Two
The first thing the Lady from CPS did was walk to our little table where we were sitting and eating. She looked around the living room, and then moved to the kitchen. The two police officers stayed near the door and observed the CPS worker. No one said anything. You could feel the tension that was left by the silence in the apartment.
