Growing your family, one baby bump at a time. All about the ups and downs of nature's 9 month miracle.
Congratulations It’s a Girl and She Weighs One Pound!
We had just gotten back from vacation and it was the start of a new year. I hadn’t gotten my period in quite a while, but that was nothing out of the ordinary for me. But something was just not quite right, so I went to see my doctor.

I Thought Staying Pregnant Was the Easy Part
All I have ever wanted in life is to be a parent. This is a common aspiration of many women, from little girls, teenagers who are just beginning to go through puberty, to young adults. While many girls do go on to have children, some don't, and some unfortunately experience child loss.

Things No One Told Me About the First Trimester….
We found out I was pregnant on the 16th of May, after enjoying a gorgeous last minute 10 days in Turkey so I could recover from an acute hamstring injury without feeling TOO depressed, I couldn’t help but be slightly confused by the absence of my period.

Blueberry - My Short Journey
My Blueberry and Our Short Journey So as most of you know, I announced that I was pregnant on July 1. We found out on June 27 and had it confirmed on June 29 through bloodwork and urine that we were pregnant. Something that we didn’t think was going to be possible. We were so excited to tell everyone. We even discussed if we should wait to tell everyone in case something happened. But a lot of my research I did said that a lot of women wished they would’ve told at least their family so they had support when something happened. So, I thought it was a wise choice. Facebook world found out because we recorded telling my mom. Now I didn’t come out on Facebook about what I went through this past Wednesday because I didn’t want people to think we were just out for attention, especially after we just announced that we were pregnant three days earlier. So, here’s my story and warning, there are parts of it that are graphic, but these are the things that have stuck with me through this tiny journey with our Blueberry.

Babies Are Blessings
When I was 23-years-old, my boyfriend and I could not wait to have a baby of our own. He had a 5-year-old from a previous relationship but we wanted to add a child of our own into the mix. I wouldn't say we were actively trying to conceive, but at the same time, we weren't trying to prevent it.

A Holistic Approach to Health During Pregnancy. Top Story - June 2018.
Pregnancy is a very interesting time in a woman's life because it involves rather miraculous biological changes but also has emotional impacts and can really change the perspective and outlook of a woman during this time in her life. There are so many new considerations she has to make about what she eats, how she needs to change her daily activities, how her body is going to change, and how she has to rethink her future plans.

Pregnancy and Labour
Well, where do I start? I always knew giving birth was going to hurt but I honestly didn’t anticipate what happened! All labours are different. Each woman has different circumstances. Me? Well, I have a condition called Spina Bifida Occulta. Usually this causes no pain and only 5 percent of the population has this condition (according to a specialist), but I feel very unlucky now. We discussed pregnancy and labour and how my condition would affect it. We knew the pain would get worse due to the additional weight my back had to carry, only at this point I cannot control it with painkillers. I got on with it, plenty of rest, nothing too strenuous.

Things to Know About Being Pregnant
Pregnancy has the same symptoms as a period, so it can be confusing at times and make people become in denial. Some people brush off their actual pregnancy symptoms, thinking it's their period coming. I'm going to list a few symptoms and myths about pregnancy. These symptoms happen as early as three to four weeks and so on.

A Beautiful Ride for Motherhood
*As this is my first time ever blogging, please excuse any awkwardness.* I did not know what was to come from such an exciting result. I took the at-home pregnancy test in the morning as soon as I woke up. I went to the bathroom, sat down, and urinated on the stick just as the package directed, OH SO VERY CAREFULLY put the cap on and set it in the flattened wrapper on the bathroom counter, finished my business and washed my hands while continuously watching the result window trying to contain the anticipation and excitement. As I came back to bed, I was trying to hide my smile. I handed my fiancé the test and he asked me what it said. Of course, I did not say anything to give it away but I knew he could tell. I waited to see his reaction as he pulled out our first positive pregnancy test. Not even a month prior I had a blood test due to a late period that my doctor said was negative. I had a feeling that she was wrong and that the bleeding was not menstrual related. We could not be more thrilled until...
