The Ugly Butterfly review
When I was younger and playing guitar was at the centre of my youthful focus, I remember my friend Alan, having the most amazing home. A large Tudor style monster, in the grounds of one of England's most desirable locations. Winding through the, seemingly never ending hallways, eventually we found ourselves standing in Alan's bedroom, his Mesa Boogie guitar amp stacked atop his speakers, stacked atop mine. There may even have been an old Marshall amp of mine amongst them. We had never had eight, 12-inch Celestion speakers, all linked together before... We had never heard the full capacity of our amplifiers... So we turned it up. We kept turning it up until we couldn't even hear our own voices as we spoke. It was awesome...like the guitar scene in 'Back to Future', where Marty is blasted across the room by an impossibly large speaker... Our stadium gigs suddenly became real (in our heads)! Now, 20+ years later, I have just one speaker... Volume no longer provides the punchiness we once craved, form and subtlety has taken over. Getting it "right" is an endless search, but the drive to find it... the new 8x12 inch speaker with the volume to 11... has evolved.

Think Outside the Usual Burger Box with Adler's
Adler’s is Amazing! With hamburgers, we are picky. We no longer eat McDonald's, Burger King, or Wendy’s hamburgers. They do not satisfy our cravings. There are plenty of places that serve hamburgers besides their specialties. But sometimes you just crave a specialty hamburger and not just the plain old BLT or Cheeseburgers sold in every other place. So, where did we eat hamburgers at?

Mamak Asian Street Food — the Restaurant Design Does Not Speak for its Food
Stepping Out of Our Comfort Zone When away from home and hunger strikes, it is time to stop at a nearby restaurant to fulfill our basic needs. Often, we tend to eat at well-known brand name restaurants but when the waiting time is more than what we’re willing to wait, we opt for someplace different. This was the case with Mamak Asian Street Food.

Eternal Sunshine of the Pasta Mind. Top Story - September 2021.
Is working in a restaurant something I want as my future career? No. I mean, never say never, but for now, no. Do I judge the idea of it? Absolutely not. My mom has worked in almost every industry over the last thirty years. And when I say this, I actually mean it. This woman had her own food truck, worked in a pharmaceutical company, and was a film make-up artist. And that is just a modest 1% of all the things. In her 40s, though, she realized that what brings her most joy is being a waitress in a great restaurant. As simple as that. And I can totally understand that.

Cafe Review: The Yellow Deli
There is a place in North Vista California, hidden among the downtown historic buildings and modern bars and coffee shops that make up the modern setting. When you hear the name you think of an off brand sandwich shop or another one of those hipster hangout neon bartender night clubs- But; when you come across the rustic front gates and natural overtones of a place that remembers what a real cafe used to be, you find yourself taken off guard by the pleasant yellow building that is The yellow Deli.

Back at Starbucks
As your typical young person, I love sitting at coffeeshops sipping a latte. This behaviour inspired me to write my first poetry book called Drinking Poetry. I like the atmosphere of a good coffee shop because it helps me unwind and also focus on work. As part of my stint with 20 cogs, I joined many research panels. Many of them, I haven’t done a lot to get the rewards from them. But with one market research panel, I got a £10 gift card from Starbucks.

Restaurant Review: Shades Bar & Grill
Shades Bar & Grill is a perfect example of how nearly aspect of life is better alongside Florida's Emerald Coast, especially on and near the varied communities of 30A. Here, even the burger stands and bars could stand up against the fanciest of fine dining establishments found in many other cities across the U.S., and there is no finer example of that than Shades Bar & Grill. That is because Shades is the type of place to host nightly chef specials which never fail to disappoint. It is a restaurant where even the most stereotypical of American meals are given the care, flavor and finesse to transform them from something average to something you will definitely be craving for many years to come. For foodies like myself, Shades is just as memorable as 30A's sunny days that people come the world over to experience.

Eat Like a Local in Mammoth
In June 2021 I drove to Mammoth, California a geologist's dream playground, located in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Not only was I there to partake in Mother Earth's expansive beauty (for my article on Mammoth Hikes click here) but to also visit a LOCAL! Below is the list of four MUST-VISIT establishments my tastebuds happily experienced during my two-day stay. The vibe at each restaurant gives you a sense of the town. The owners, staff, and local clientele are kind and want to interact with you. They enjoy hearing where you are from, what you are reading, and who you are. They love talking about their town and the geographic history behind it. The food is GREAT. The list below will fulfill all cravings for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks - Bon Appetit!
