The Postman
There are days life feels so mundane I’d do almost anything to get out of living it. Well, almost anything. I suppose there are a few things I won’t do if I’m still here doing this instead. In a way, I am happy to be sitting in my kitchen on a gloomy Sunday morning–late morning, where you know the sun is hiding brightly behind the clouds but it’s out of sight because the rain is too loud. I get the chance to hear each drop pitter-patter on my tin roof, along the walls. I am in awe every day of these simple delights; like coffee in my cup and a newspaper to thumb.

Two Lefts to Nowhere
Claire There are a lot of people out there who say that life is unpredictable. What most people don’t realize is that life itself isn’t what’s unpredictable, it’s everything in life that’s unpredictable. You drive home the same way every single day, and one day a car blows the red light and t-bones you. You have chicken for dinner every Monday night, and one week you get food poisoning because that one chicken was infected with some bacteria from somewhere along its journey.

Off the Path (continued)
Mac stuck to the road, hoping to run into someone she may know. The abandoned house wasn’t too far away from Route 44 and that road connected to the entire town. Her feet pounded the pavement, every so often she glanced over her shoulder to ensure no one was following. The man from the woods hadn’t yet realized someone had been in his home. She wondered when and if he would. Surely, he didn’t think Carl had been alone. She expected he would be looking for her once he realized someone else had been there.

Manster or Mon? Part Three
Mountains reach the sky. A man is ever-changing, like a young mountain. He wishes to meet great heights. He conspires to rise to the top of the mountain. Climbing to live, not just to climb. He would ascend to the heavens. Ascension of thought and progression. If it's a man's world, I don't want to be king. Man would reach the stars and never look back.

Tales of Bette: Charlie Who?
We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. 'We' it still feels weird to say think of 'us' like that. "There is no way we are not lost," Bette said. She looked at her phone again: no signal. "Do you have a map," she asked curtly, she tried her hardest to remain calm, but she was failing. Charlie had been generous to surprise her with the cabin getaway between Christmas and New Years', but it wasn't what she expected.

Manster or Mon? Part Two
A high horse have we sat for quite some time now. We've built our own mountains. Never believing we would fall off. Sometimes we got up. The other times we did not get up. No matter our status in life, we are the kings of our own minds. We have always thought kingly of ourselves. Existing in ever-shifting roles of importance and nonsensical ramblings. One day we are kings. The next we sit with monstrous intent. Truths slow-dripping down our sides. Through our minds. My resolve is forever unwavering. Like the mighty oak, I stand tall. The wind has to go around me, it will move only for the Gods.

Manster or Mon? Part 1
Manster or Mon? It doesn't just sound funny. It's about the towing of the line between being a man and a monster. We usually try to avoid monstrous thoughts and feelings. Having a severe mental illness diagnosis has me teetering on becoming a monstrosity. Schizo-affective disorder leaves one feeling as if they alternate from one personality to another. Reality seems to be ever-changing. Thoughts and feelings shift at the very whim of a haunted man. Often feeling like Dr. Jekkyl and Mr. Hyde. In this case, Hyde is being quite cheeky. So, I play along. Man to the monster is often no small feat. Though it rarely happens overnight. The other times we don't just break a sweat to swim our way out of regret. Trying to make that a saying. It's a thing!
