The box
It had gotten tangled in a nearby bush filled with white roses and thorns. It kept whirring furiously, as if trying to extricate itself from the prickly branches. The noise was bothering me tremendously. I walked out of the house and followed that insistent and infuriating noise. I looked left and right and finally saw something onyx black glinting in the summer sun.

Lower stomach feelings
Author note: I’ve been feeling utterly exhausted emotionally and physically. Here’s some cathartic stuff hopefully, I guess. I feel like trauma is an empty bag you can’t open and fill up, it’s a cruel light thing you carry and it attaches to you tightly.

Dragon Scales
My story begins thousands of years ago, long before dragons and humans tolerated and worked with each other. It's a tale of hardship, friendship, magic, and death. Many people don't believe the facts of this account, but believe me when I say, it is every bit the truth.

Delphine
Sitting in the darkened viewing room, Delphine felt as close to the peace she used to feel before the passing of her Mémé a year ago. The fish swam through the iridescent blue that reminded her of her grandmother’s eyes, with a grace she envied. Delphine herself had two left feet and was all thumbs. Being clumsy just made her even more self-conscious than the average fifteen year old girl.

The Teller
“In twelve days, you’ll find everything you’re looking for, Ms. Harmsworth. You’ll be able to pay everything back in no time at all,” I told her. The future I saw for her was bleak, unable to pay back the loan the bank was going to give her, so they would foreclose on her house and sell off her assets. It didn’t matter to me, the bank was paying me to ignore the negative visions and use my reputation as the world’s greatest psychic to convince people to take a loan.
