Who Or What Is The Woke Mob?
By way of metonymy, the 'woke' mob gets thrown around quite a lot in our modern political arena. So, what exactly do you think it means? And, what’s the best way to capture the essence of the message being conveyed, without being overly (or perhaps unbearably), critical of the Left? I’ve come up with a story to do just that. So here’s my personal reflection on what or who the 'woke' mob may be….

In Short Supply
John Templeton was enjoying the smell of his brewing coffee. That aroma, as well as that of baking cookies reminded him of his grandmother’s house. He had spent portions of his childhood living with his grandmother. She would finish half a pot of Folgers before John had even woken. Unlike the delicious cookies she baked for him on occasion, coffee wasn’t completely pleasurable. The taste nauseated him. For John it was one of life’s great mysteries. How could anything that smelled that delicious taste so bad. Every few years the smell would so intoxicate him that he would have to give it another try. He was always disappointed.

"Crazy"
"They say that in space, no one can hear you scream." This was the only response "173 Foxtrot"(Fox) got from his brother after bragging to him about enlisting in the Coalition Space Forces. Growing up under his brother's inescapable shadow, becoming a war hero seemed the best way to get out of it. Fox imagined all the humble ways he’d gloat his incredible glory over him. Knowing the goal could cost his life, Fox still figured he wasn't risking much. Still, his older brother's foreboding words and grave expression had haunted Fox from basic training to today, his first mission.

Experiment 86119
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. I rather feel like I hear screams too often while looking at the vastness of the stars above me. Inhaling the salty air as I stand just close enough to the ocean for the water to roll over my feet, I ignore the subtle hues of different colored lights coming from me. Almost in a trance, I stand perfectly still as I await something I’m not a hundred percent certain of as a memory rises.

Test Caps: Chapter 1
“Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say.” It was the skinny one talking to his bigger friend, leaning in close with a hand cupped around his mouth to make the words sound even more dramatic, building tension like a voiceover for a movie trailer while we waited in the auditorium for the suits to begin their program.

The End's Beginning
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. This wasn't screaming though, and they weren't carbon based lifeforms. Though they were birthed, made, constructed by humans, humans could never comprehend the ability for such beings to exist, let alone on how to properly live together with such creations. Now, there was only three landmarks all throughout the universe. The first being the dark little ball of dirt where their eggs had originated from, the second being the remains of the Quilter as not everything was torn to shreds by the blast of neutrinos, and third was this glowing spherical orb that radiated with energy, giving off both light and heat.
