As the sun began to rise over the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas, a group of trekkers began their ascent up one of the most treacherous trails in Nepal. They were on a mission to reach the summit of the highest peak in the region, and they knew that the journey ahead would be long and grueling. Among the group was a young woman named Maya, who had dreamed of climbing this mountain since she was a child. Maya had always been drawn to the mountains, and she felt a deep sense of peace and belonging whenever she was surrounded by their majestic beauty.

I’d get to school and proudly hand my work to my teacher. “Review my work please,” I’d say. She’d always give me a C and tell me “you can do better.” I skipped the bus today and followed my teacher home. I told my parents I was at a sleep over and had my friend cover for me.
