The BA Meeting
Audio: Deep Blue BA Meeting #324 Transcribed: July 1, 2021 [00.00] Amahle: Good evening everybody. Hello there, I’m Amahle and I am the counsellor that will take us through tonight’s group session. So, to start off this week’s Biters Anonymous meeting, I would like to thank you and to welcome you all for making it down tonight, especially with the terrible weather we’ve been having. And I’d like to give a very warm welcome to the new face in the room. Would you like to introduce yourself?

An Unintended Disaster
Opening Scene As the proscenium stage mirrors the glamorous, white walls of Lauren’s room, Lauren and Junior lay on top of Lauren’s puffy bed. The two were discussing their plans for the summer, Matilda abruptly opens the door of Lauren’s room. As soon as Matilda closes the door, she collapses to the floor and starts whining. Attempting not to laugh at the spectacle of Matilda on the rug, Lauren and Junior glance at each other and choose to help Matilda lift herself. They asked Matilda what happened and she begins to explain, in tears, how her boyfriend broke up with her. Attentively, Lauren and Junior listen.

Time Gentlemen, Please
Time gentlemen, please Introduction – A feminist restructuring of Jim Cartwright’s Two. In this play we explore third-party harassment against women in the 80’s working in a northern pub. In this first scene, we are introduced to all the girls in a shoal movement sequence that is loud and lively like a pub at 8 o’clock on a hot Saturday evening.

The Chocolate Effect
“My mom loves chocolate cake”, usually buttoned up and unaffected, Thomas beamed as he hovered over the cracked glass counter, in the tiniest bakery that Olivia had ever seen. The bakery reminded her of her grandmother’s kitchen, so small and hot, with sweet smells that made the discomfort worth it. Hoards of people, varying genus and taste pallets, swarmed the crowded space. You could almost reach out and write your name in the foggy glasses of the person standing shoulder to shoulder with you, waiting to place their order.

A Brief History of the 20th Century
(LIGHTS UP on a white ramp with an iron railing. The ramp leads up to the entrance of a larger building. It is late afternoon. Two brothers, THE 1970s and THE 1980s, are leaning across it in a casual manner. They are talking. THE 1970s has light brown, slightly messy hair and is in his early twenties. He wears a fitted green shirt and tan brown bell-bottom pants. THE 1980s has black hair and is in his early twenties. He is wearing black fingerless gloves, black boots, and a thin, black overshirt that is unbuttoned over a black shirt. THE 1970s is carefree, funny, and calm. THE 1980s is casual, pithy, and dark.)
