The Perfect World

The place where no one ever dies.

It's an early summer day, the sun glares off my body, and the sound of the birds chirping makes me warm inside. The colors of the roses are bright, so beautiful, I hope they stay that way forever. I woke up today excited, happy, ecstatic to be here, never in a million years did i think i would ever get inside this place. The place where no one ever dies. It sounds crazy, it did to me too right before I saw the light. As I entered this place I was frightened at first, had my tail between my legs when a familiar voice whispered my name. It led me to a big white door and it opened itself for me. I began to walk in, and there were so many people, they all looked happy, and at peace. I wanted to ask why, or what was going on but as I kept on walking I started to see everyone I knew it was as if they were waiting for me. They looked so different from when I could remember. "Hey Kate, how are you! We've missed you so much!" I began to hug and kiss everyone and just enjoy the good company. They decided to show me around and take me to all their favorite places in this world that was so new to me. I can't exaggerate how beautiful it was everywhere I turned it was like a scene straight from a movie. The people were bright, the sun burnt your skin just enough. There weren't any commercial buildings, no hospitals, no stores, it was a little weird to me at first. "Where are all the buildings? the stores?” I ask. "You don't need any of that stuff here silly, look at us, we are all perfect, and never go without." I was so confused, but I went about my day. There were animals, all kinds, even the ones I thought were not real. There were so many people, yet it felt like there was enough space for 1,000 more. Not one person was sad, roaming the streets, asking for food or money. I could feel the vibe in the atmosphere, and let me tell you it was a feeling that filled me with so much happiness it was like I could cry. They took me down to a lake, a lake that I remember perfectly, but it looked different in my mind. The presence was familiar but it eas different. The first time I ever went there was when I was only 8. I used to roam around whenever I felt alone, no one ever questioned where I went so it was my place. It was a little difficult to remember the path at first, but soon I had it memorized and it was so easy to find myself there. As I got older it was the only place I could run to, to feel at peace in my mind. One day I decided it was the only real good thing I had in my life. It was like it was destined for me to find, and the trees around would listen to the stories I told of my life. It's like they felt my sadness, and would soak it up and I would feel alright the rest of the day. Even the water made me feel great especially on the days I would hop in for a swim. I could see shiny things in the water this time, it was the fish, except now they sparkled. I ran my hand through the water and the temperature was just right. I could see my reflection when I gasped. "Oh my gosh, is that me?" I couldn't believe it, I was so beautiful. I place my hands on my cheek, and release a sigh. As I saw the diamonds in the water, that's when I realized this lake, this warm place, is the place I came to die. I was not sad, I was not even a bit upset, I was at peace. I was happy, I was at my place. The place I came to die, because I knew I would be happy here for the rest of my life.
