A Patient American Economy
Patient X - The American Dream

A Patient American Economy
Dylon and I created this innovative business design idea. The vision kept developing organically in our minds and even while sleeping. The two of us quit our corporate jobs, transferred all we saved up through our jobs to our vision as bootstrap, and began developing this ideation to make this conceived dream a reality, putting forth 80-hour unpaid work weeks at the minimum. The most interesting rewarding aspect of this opportunity was not related to how much money; more importantly, we could be enabled to broadcast the primary and insightful awareness to the world related to unfortunate happenings occurring across the globe.
Incidents that really hit hard in the heart for the two of us, which we objectively established we personally desired to change, were related to suicides, drug overdoses, and racial inequalities wrongfully encountering throughout the American nation. We have lost more than one friend due to suicide and drug overdose, while racial equality was something we blatantly see daily. That was another contribution attribute we could not just sit back and let happen anymore in this world of ours that we thankfully get to live in.
We did not want the money output denominated by our proficient service; we just wish to contribute awareness raised to the strategies that occur; unfortunately, every day as one life influences and saved is the same reward compared to millions. Money comes with making a meaningful positive impact within our society and culture. Every day and every night, this vision could not stop running through our brains as it is not only an excellent opportunity which we could seize but, most notably, a service that could help all make money for them and raise awareness to all.
What happened next was something inseparable from our whole entire world. COVID-19 began to close the world, and the economy started to fall drastically. As the snow began to fall and COVID-19 creped through the American nation, let alone the whole world, this did not eradicate our business development work. We both knew our service will help the economy in the end after the virus vaccination gets distributed to all safely. I never will forget working on our business plan as the snow began to fall in Michigan, just thinking, “when will this virus be settled.”
As we kept developing, we began to see suicides, drug overdoses, and racial inequality movements rapidly increase throughout the nation due to the economic diminishment that the virus placed upon the economy. 80-hour work weeks kept enduring for the two of us. Not only were the two of us working hard, but also learning hard everything needed to be taught to run a business the best modern tech possible way an owner could run it.
It has now been over 10 months of diligent visionary work passed, almost to the point where it felt like we have not looked up from the screen once since we started. All registrations, legalities, and registrations were conformed, and expenditure with the bootstrap allowance the two of us had saved from our previous jobs. We figured out fast that our bootstrapped savings were not enough. The money we saved was spent on what we had to get to start this business, but unfortunately, it was not enough. We had no money left to show other than a well-shelled and organized company ready to begin servicing our world.
Fortunately, after patents and registration, we could now present our service without other businesses stealing our ideas. This felt bittersweet, though, since we had only a few hundred dollars left to our names as the rest was spent to build the visioned business.
Every day, Dylon and I begin our morning with a cup of coffee virtually, discussing all that we will tackle for the day.
Although we have done this routine nearly ever since beginning the business, today was quite different. As I began reading over our daily to-do’s written in my small black notebook, Dylon spoke, “let me check my email to see if we have anything organized and ready to tackle for the day.” I hear him click and click-through logging onto his Gmail on my screen, but this time his facial expression was different. The most genuine smile I have ever seen arose within his facial expression as he was looking at his inbox on his small black notebook laptop. I then assertively questioned him, “Why are you smiling like that dude?” he then looks right at the laptop camera and says, “we have an investor who wants to financially settle with us this afternoon.”
