fact or fiction
Is it science fact or science fiction? Futurism presents both sides to determine the truth.
Doomsday Diary
Day 1 of Elvira Smith’s Doomsday Diary, mid-October, 2053… No one can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. I wouldn't know, but I imagine the one screaming feels much as I do now. Does it count if you're the only one who can hear yourself scream?

The Invo
“A new civilization is what we're building at the Fallon Naval Air Station. It's now called Foster City.” Lieutenant Brennan said, smiling at Tom Matheson from across the kitchen table. “We have electricity, we have food and we have security from marauders. We're building farms and factories.” Brennan wore the blue Navy Working Uniform with a sidearm. Two sailors stood behind Brennan, each with an automatic rifle. “We'd like you to come with us and contribute to the new society,”

Heart Shaped Lockets
Colin stared at the clock on the wall in a trance, the raging chorus of customers voices and chatter that filled the walls of a small, single roomed Burger World began to blur and came to an almost deafening silence. Tick. Tick. Tick. He instinctively clutched the heart shaped locket dangling freely from around his neck and emanated a faint glow as blue as the sky. It hummed and vibrated at a low frequency as a wave of anxiety and fear washed over Colin, for he knew his time was running out. The rhythmic beating of the clocks hands hammered against his ear drums, growing louder with each tick. A hand grabbed his shoulder, pulling him back to reality.

Wali
Alvin was walking down what was once a street with hundreds of cars. Back in the beginning of 2078 when the Super volcano Yellowstone exploded, it let out hundreds of thousands of pounds of ash into the air. The sun was unable to shine through for months, causing a sudden and major drop in temperature that caused the near extinction of many species, including humans. Alvin was once a marine biologist who went on a 200 day luxury-submarine expedition with his best friend Wali, just 2 weeks before Yellowstone went off. Alvin remembered when the fish first started dying and then when he stopped seeing the fish at all. On day 200 he and Wali decided to go up to the surface and when they did, they saw nothing. It was very dark and there were no people around, unless you count the few bodies laying on the beach.

Tell the Truth
Tell the Truth to Co Create Harmony, By Ashley Chase Dear Mr. President, I don't know if I am the only person left, because I have not seen anyone who is whole in many years. However, I am writing to see if somewhere somehow you are alive and well and may know of others who are as well.

The Sunshine State of the Union
I used to watch The Day After Tomorrow as a teen in St. Pete and laugh. It’s not that I didn’t find the scenes of the icy water rising in the streets of New York City exciting, even frightening. It was the ridiculous premise: sudden overwhelming destruction of our world because of climate change. It wasn’t a believable plot. It couldn’t happen.

Chaldea Lost
The sunlight refracted off of the water bag and sent little sparkles dancing across the forest floor as Angela hung a camping shower from a maple tree. She was a few miles outside of Portland, Oregon. She glanced around to make sure she was alone, before stripping out of her army green tactical jacket, t-shirt, and shimmying out of her jeans.. She hung her clothing on a nearby branch along with the only jewelry she owned, a small heart shaped locket. It had been a gift from her grandmother on her 18th birthday. Crafted of sterling silver and set with an aquamarine in the center, it held a picture of her grandparents on their wedding day. Becoming the recipient of this prized family heirloom had made her the envy of her sisters. Angela figured Grandma had chosen her to have it because they shared the same birthday - March 21st, the Spring Equinox - and therefore the aquamarine was both of their birthstones.

The Law of Vibration
Nikola Tesla said “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.” Our physical bodies are affected by the vibrations and frequencies that we operate at. When a collective is operating in a lower frequency, lets say fear for example, that energy is felt by many. Literally everything in this realm is a vibration, even that table or the tablet or laptop you are reading this on. On a deeper molecular level, even you yourself are a vibration.
