humanity
The evolution of humanity, from one advancement to the next.
The Third Industrial Revolution
When the first Industrialized Revolution unfolded the fuel that ushered in a new found way of life was all based on fossil fuels. The gluttony that followed in the fervor frenzy of drilling and mining that ensued only created an environmental catastrophe of epic proportions today. Yet in the United States most of our government is in a state of denial that our industrial infrastructure that by the way is built all off of fossil fuels is the cause of all the environmental impact that global warming is having all around the globe. The continuing onslaught of more natural disasters which have been occurring more frequently with each passing year is a direct result of mans interference with the natural balance on this planet.

Comes A Horseman
On a night as black as pitch comes the Horseman. It is said that all through-out history man has been tormented by the constant struggle between good and evil. Where good intentions are swept away by selfish desires. These selfish desires are now embedded in the conscious thoughts of man coursed by the temptations that the Horseman offers.

The Climate Change Reversal Project
By the time the sun reached its apex the temperature was well on its way to reach the predicted high of 118 degrees. For Sydney, Australia, another day of record-setting temperatures. Over three-fourths of the world's population has already been evacuated because of rising sea levels. For years now scientists have been warning about rising seas and yet too many political leaders scoffed at the idea of man-induced climate change. But now, faced with global devastation that is unprecedented in modern times it just maybe too late for Mother Earth. The human race is now on the verge of extinction. All over the world for the past few years there continues to be record-setting temperatures. Places like Seattle, Washington and even London, England have seen days on end where the temperatures have reached 110 degrees or higher. Compounding the massive heat waves, the world is witnessing increasing violent hurricanes and typhoons. Never before in recent history has the world been thrust into such an inferno.

Space The Final Frontier
Since the dawn of man, mankind has always looked up to the heavens and pondered that ageless question whether we are alone or are there other life forms some where out there in the Universe. From the first time man noticed those shining stars above we have become fascinated by what is really out there.

The Drink: Friday Flash Fiction Post
From www.conniesrandomthoughts.com Posted on April 7, 2017 I originally wrote this story at the start of February, 2014! I know, right? I searched the blog and cannot find where I posted it, if I did. Anyway, I was searching for the recipe I have in the story, a specialty bar drink that I created for a Chuck Wendig prompt. So I thought it would be cool that I make the drink an actual recipe card to hand out at my Phoenix ComiCon appearance in May. www.PhoenixComiCon.com. I’m not sure the title fits. What do you think? What would be a better title?

Oasis
Webster defines an Oasis as a fertile tract of land that occurs in a desert wherever a permanent supply of fresh water is available. In the universe an Oasis is a planet that has all the elements necessary to support life. It is impossible not to fathom that there are other planets our scientists term are in habitable zones making them an Oasis in the vast cosmos of space. For thousands of years man has looked up into the heavens and asked the eternal question are we alone or are there brothers of man somewhere out there far beyond our own know realm of reality inhabiting another Oasis?

Connecting the Simulation Theory and Transcension Theory
As scientists gather more evidence, the idea that we are living in a simulation is beginning to look less like a fringe theory among sci-fi nerds and more like a legitimate explanation for the universe. The simulation theory, however, might end up connecting yet another fringe theory that attempts to explain the seeming silence of the universe -- a silence generally referred to as Fermi’s Paradox.

Blackout
In an age of lightening fast Internet where web pages effortlessly stream across our computer screens makes so many of us unaware that in a split second that computer screen could suddenly turn black. We have all experienced power outages before, sometimes they last for just minutes but many times they have been know to last hours and even days on end. That old saying you don't realize what you have until it is gone, is very apropos today, because we take for granted our electricity will some how always turn back on. Down here in Florida with this seasons hurricane season soon to be upon us still too many aren't fully prepared in the eventuality that the power could go out. It has already happened too many times before in the aftermath of so many storms that have decimated whole regions leaving millions without electricity for weeks. All because of our failure to put in place energy grids and energy transfer that would be capable of uninterrupted and unlimited supply of power to every community all across the United States. While home generators are somewhat of a good idea they too require fuel to keep them running. In the event of a major power outage the sources of fuel to run those generators will become unavailable all because of the power grid collapse. Even if there were solar or wind power generators available they still are way too expensive for the average home to have on hand. In all actuality today we have a third world energy grid that is so antiquated it is a wonder we haven't had more prolonged power shortages.
