Have We Been Visited Before?

Clues That Suggest Ancient Aliens May Have Walked Among Us

By Areeba UmairPublished 2 months ago 6 min read

I’ve been curious about this topic for ages, and I’ve said it before: I absolutely believe in extraterrestrials. It just seems logical that intelligent life exists somewhere else in this vast universe. There are so many subtle, and sometimes not-so-subtle, clues out there that seem to point to the fact that we are not alone.

If you believe that alien life exists, you have to ask a follow-up question: have they visited us before? Have they explored our planet long before we invented cameras and started taking blurry photos of their supposed spaceships? It makes a lot of sense, right? Why would they start visiting now, and not thousands of years ago?

Here are some truly interesting clues I’ve found that some people believe are proof of “Ancient Aliens.” I’m not saying every one of these examples is definitely, 100% related to visitors from another world; everyone has their own opinions. All I’m suggesting is that you keep an open mind and judge for yourself.

1. The Battle Over Nuremberg, Germany

In the 16th century, a strange event reportedly occurred in the early hours of April 14th, 1561, over Nuremberg, Germany. A printer named Hans Glaser depicted the scene in a woodcut, showing a multitude of weird-looking objects in the sky in a very chaotic, war-like pattern.

The woodcut came with a description, which I’ll summarise for you:

  • On that morning, between 4 and 5 a.m., a dreadful apparition occurred on the sun and was witnessed by many people. Strange rods and globe-shaped objects appeared, flying and fighting in the sky for over an hour. Many of these objects then fell from the sky, crashing and burning on the ground.

Sceptics often try to explain this away as figurative language describing a natural solar phenomenon, like a sun dog. Personally, I don’t think a sun dog, which is essentially a bright spot caused by atmospheric ice crystals, looks anything like the chaotic, detailed, and frankly terrifying description that was given.

2. The Mysterious Paracas Skulls

Back in 1928, the famous Peruvian archaeologist Julio Tello discovered a mass grave on the southern coast of Peru, about four hours south of Lima. Inside, he found more than 300 very strange-looking skulls. Honestly, they look like they belong in a science fiction movie.

Researchers declared this the most extreme case of deliberate skull elongation ever discovered. Some ancient cultures practised this by tying wood to an infant’s head to change its shape over time. But here’s the thing: that method only changes the shape of the skull, not its size or volume.

Some of the skulls Tello found were reportedly over 25% larger and 60% heavier than a normal human skull.

Now, for the truly crazy part: According to Discovery News, Brian Foerster, director of the Paracas History Museum, sent hair, teeth, and bone samples from five of the skulls for DNA testing. The conclusion was astonishing: the mitochondrial DNA showed mutations unknown to any man, primate, or any other animal. The findings suggested they were dealing with a “completely new human-like being, very distant from Homo sapiens, Neanderthals, or Denisovans.”

Basically, this is either a completely new species of human we knew nothing about, or the remains simply aren’t from this world.

3. Ancient Cave Paintings

Today, we are used to seeing drawings of UFOs or what we imagine aliens look like. But what if those drawings were made thousands, or even tens of thousands, of years ago?

For example, near the town of Charama, India, paintings were found in caves that seem to clearly depict UFOs and extraterrestrials. Some, like the one shown here, look a lot like what a modern kid might draw if you asked them to sketch a space robot.

The local villagers have a story passed down through generations about the “Rohilla people,” or “small-sized ones,” who came down from the sky in round-shaped objects. They would reportedly take one or two villagers away, and they would never return, potentially the first documented instances of alien abduction.

Archaeologist J.R. Bhagat noted that the strangely carved figures hold weapon-like objects and are missing clear facial features like a nose and mouth. In a few pictures, they even appear to be wearing space suits.

Of course, this is just one example. Take a look at this 10,000 BC painting from a cave in Italy that seems to show two people in suits, or this 13,000 BC one from France that could be a raincloud, a flying saucer, or the earliest version of Space Invaders.

4. Ancient Structures We Can’t Explain

We all know the great tourist attractions like the Pyramids of Giza and Stonehenge. But if you dig a little deeper, you find how truly mysterious these and many other structures around the world are, to the point where modern engineering still struggles to figure out exactly how they were created.

Take the ruins of Puma Punku in Bolivia, located at an elevation of over 12,000 feet. No one really knows what this structure was for, what it looked like, or when it was built (estimates range from 2,000 to 17,000 years ago).

What we do know is that it was built by people who had access to knowledge and tools that could rival modern-day humans. The massive stone blocks that make up the structure were cut with precision, bearing no chisel marks, and fitted together so well that you couldn’t even wedge a needle between them. Today, this would require extremely sharp tools, perhaps even laser cutting.

Then there is the question of transport. Some of these blocks weighed around 150 tons. The nearest source for the stones was over six miles away, and some were transported from around 50 miles away. Keep in mind the extreme elevation, the steep incline, and the fact that horses were not used in that region, nor were logs (the site is above the natural tree line).

We have structures like the Nazca Lines and the Moai on Easter Island that are just as baffling. We can only guess, because honestly, we have no real idea how they were accomplished back then, some of these feats would be difficult to pull off even today.

5. UFOs in Classic Paintings

While researching a video on secrets in famous artworks, I noticed quite a few classic paintings that seem to depict what look like UFOs.

Check out this 15th-century work, The Madonna with Saint Giovannino, attributed to Domenico Ghirlandaio. It now hangs in the Palazzo Vecchio. It depicts Mary, the mother of Jesus, with her hands folded, but what is that strange object floating over her shoulder? It looks like some kind of flying craft, possibly radiating light. If you look closer, you can see a man on the ground looking up at the object, shielding his eyes from either the sun or the light the object is emitting.

Some argue this is simply a representation of God’s glory, and in Ghirlandaio’s work, people often shield themselves from divine light. But let’s look at another one.

The Crucifixion of Christ is a 14th-century fresco hanging above the altar at the Visoki Dečani Monastery in Kosovo. Near the top of the painting, there are two bizarre objects that truly stand out. They look like two speeding spaceships with pilots inside. In the Sputnik-looking ship on the right, the pilot even seems to be looking back at the other craft.

Many art historians say these are simply the personified Sun and Moon, a common motif in Byzantine-style crucifixion paintings. However, to many people, these objects look distinctly like spacecraft, and the pilots even appear to be holding control sticks.

I personally believe that aliens do exist. In fact, a recent update to the famous Drake Equation concluded that the odds of humans being alone in the universe are about one in ten billion trillion.

So, if advanced alien beings exist, why wouldn’t they have made contact with humans hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of years ago? Maybe that was the smarter move. Back then, people would have seen them as gods descending from the sky. Now? People would probably just be scared and try to shoot them down.

This is just some interesting information I found that I thought you would enjoy.
