Contra for the NES
Gryzor! What the what?! Contra on the NES has always been one of my favorite games. I think most people will also agree that it’s at least a very fun game. You run around, you hop around, you shoot shit, and shit blows up; it’s great, but did you know that before Contra, there was Gryzor?

‘The Last of Us,’ ‘Uncharted,’ and the Future of Single-Player Games
My first exposure to a game published by Naughty Dog (perhaps PlayStation’s premier game studio) was in high school when I played the first Uncharted game. Since then, I’ve played three other Uncharted games, and the seminal title, The Last of Us. Tinged by the lens of nostalgia, these releases loom huge in my mind as examples of everything that I love about video games. Why Horror Games Are Scarier Than Movies
Many cinephiles will look at the most popular horror games of the time, like Slender: The Eight Pages or Five Nights at Freddy's, which are popular and accessible games, and scoff. Best Video Games Never Made
When people think of the best video games never made, very often we look to the distant past, at big studio games that had displayed such potential, only for development to be canceled. Anything can go wrong with making a game. Gamers never really seem to realize how much blood, sweat, and tears go into making video games, and all it takes is one studio exec to kill it all mid-production.

Why Are Video Game Movies So Awful?. Top Story - July 2017.
Time and time again, Hollywood goes to video games for material to adapt into the next movie blockbuster. Sometimes video game films make a buck. Sometimes, they make a lot. And other times they flop. Yet critical consensus among audiences and fans of the various video games brought to the screen is consistent. The movies are okay at best, and dreadful at worst.

Girl Gamers: Why Women Are Ignored By Gaming Companies, And Why It Has To Stop
If there's one gaming group that seems to get crazy amounts of hate, it's girl gamers. Realistically, most of the people who play video games don't really hate female gamers - but those who do seem to think girl gamers are the spawn of Satan. Their crime? It's simple: they played video games while female.
