Robert Carradine and his Brothers have a lasting Hollywood legacy

Robert Carradine was a beloved entertainer

The death of Robert Carradine at 71 has shocked the entertainment industry and his fans. His brother, Keith Carradine, revealed that the actor dealt with bipolar disorder and died by suicide on February 23.

Robert was known for roles that were quirky and humorous. He is remembered fondly as Hillary Duff's father, Sam McQuire, on the Disney series, Lizzy McGuire, from January 12, 2001, to February 14, 2004. PEOPLE reports that Duff said her heart aches after hearing that her TV dad has died.

Carradine also played Lewis Skolnick in Revenge of the Nerds ( 1984) and Revenge of the Nerds II (1987). He also appeared in Django Unchained and The Cowboys, among his many film appearances.

He was married to Edie Mani from 1990 to 2018. They have three children, including actress Ever Carradine, who is the third generation of the iconic family in the entertainment business.

Robert Carradine

A Carradine family affair

Carradine was born on March 24, 1954, to a family that is considered Hollywood royalty. His father, John Carradine, along with Keith and half-brother David, appeared with Robert in the Western The Lone Riders.

Robert was also in the film Run Joe Run, where his brother Keith had the title role. Both appeared on Kung Fu with David. There are three additional half-brothers in the entertainment business: Bruce and Christopher Carradine.

Actor Michael Bowen Jr's mother, Sonya Sorel, married John Carradine, making Robert and Keith his half-brothers.

David Carradine

David Carradine (1936 to 2009) was the most famous sibling. His role as Kwai Chang Caine in Kung Fu is the one he is best known for. He portrayed Bill in Kill Bill Volume 2 and appeared inBound for Glory, Death Race 2000, among many others.

While Robert was in high school, he lived with David in Laurel Canyon, California. David Carradine died in 2009 in Bangkok. Initial reports suggested suicide because he was found wth a rope around his neck. His death was later ruled as an accident during sex.

John Carradine

John Carradine (February 5th, 1906 to November 27, 1988), the family Patriarch appeared in The Restless Gun, The Beverly Hillbillies, Kung Fu, The Twilight Zone, and many other television shows. His film roles include The Mummy's Ghost and Captain Kid.

Additional joint ventures with his sons include Boxcar Bertha (1972) with David, The Good Guys and the Bad Guys (1969) with David, and an episode of The Twilight Zone (1986) with Robert.

Keith Carradine

Keith Carradine was born on August 8, 1949. He is known for the series Nashville and won an Academy Award for Best Original Song: I'm Easy. His television roles include Dexter and Madam Secretary. Among his many credits was appearing on Kung Fu with his older sibling.

Bruce Carradine

Bruce Carradine was born on April 10, 1933, and died on November 8, 2016. There is no information on his cause of death. Like his siblings, he also appeared in Kung Fu. He was also known for The Winged Serpent and Mata Hari.

Keith, David and RobertCarradine

Christopher Carradine

Christopher Carradine was born on January 23, 1947. He has been the vice president of Walt Disney Imagineering. Although some websites list him as an actor, there is no information on his having any roles.

Michael Bowens

Michael Bowens Jr. was born on June 21st, 1958. His claim to fame was portraying Tommy, the romantic rival of Nikolas Cage in the cult classic Valley Girl. He also appeared in Lost and played Jack Welker on Breaking Bad.

If you watch Retro channels and streaming services that have classic film and television, you will have no trouble locating programming with the Carradine family members.
