B.S.D. Broken, Shattered, Destroyed
At three in the morning, a black car with a blank license plate drove down the street slowly before making a stop as its tires kissed the sidewalk. Inside the car, a man with a solid build dressed in combat gear looked over at a black briefcase in the passenger seat. As he opened up the briefcase documents laid in a folder marked in bold red letters saying exterminate. The man began to look through the documents before placing them back in the briefcase. Looking over his shoulder, he went to grab a silver case in the back seat. Speaking to himself, “Not every day your uncle gives you an opportunity that's once of in a lifetime. I complete this task then he'll recruit me to join the kinder organization. Big money will be on the way." he laughed. After getting the silver case he opened it up on his lap. In it presented the mechanics of a pistol waiting to be assembled. "With this nice little gift uncle presented me, ill be sure to clean the portrait of stains. The untouched shine will flourish once again," he said while putting the gun together.

Hadrian Potter x Library of Heavens Path (fanfiction)
As he opened his eyes he was immediately welcomed by the darkness, feeling slightly disorientated he tried getting up when suddenly, acute pain floods his head. Shot through his system like fire, nerves vibrating as if they had been replaced by ice and electricity wired straight into his spine. The pain forcing the knowledge of every muscle and fibre in his being, an unusual awareness bludgered into his brain he passed out.

Barista Thor: The Coffee Shop AU in Fanfiction
Tropes are literary devices that are commonly found in fiction. They are in everything from traditionally published books to blockbuster movies, but fanfiction in particular has embraced acknowledging their use. Fanfiction writers will proudly declare what tropes they’ve used as inspiration for a story in a way that novelists or screenwriters aren’t always as willing to do.

The Gods Have Fallen
Ragnarök had begun, the end time, the Apocalypse. The impending doom had been hanging over Midgard for some time now. A creeping darkness, from deep in a far off nether realm had laid siege to Asgard. The entity had already destroyed seven of the nine realms, killing billions and damaging Yggdrasil, the mighty World Tree. Odin was desperate, the warriors of Valhalla and his Valkyries were decimated and his fellow Aesir were being slaughtered. In this time of anguish, Odin had called for help from the other gods that protected this world. Zeus and his Olympians, the Shinto gods and the old gods of Egypt. None could stand against the otherworldly entity, each one would fall in time.

Chapter 9 Potomac General Hospital – Evening – One thousand seven hundred twenty-three. That was the number of dots on the tile above his head before he’d lost count and had to begin again. He’d gotten used to the beeps and swishes from the monitors, and boredom had long set in. His friends and family had been there since he’d been brought in and now after hearing the doctors’ preliminary report, he’d shooed them all out refusing to see anyone. He felt like a child, a jerk but he didn’t care, he didn’t care...but he did.

Chapter 8 Potomac General – Afternoon – Dave was relieved that Fran had managed to fall asleep in the recliner that the nursing staff had graciously brought into the room. He promised her that he would stand watch over Derek while she rested. Hotch had agreed that he stay, and the director had begrudgingly allowed the team to take only local cases for the time being. Sarah and Desire had not returned, nor had they called. Penelope was a wreck when she left; wanting to stay but not sure she should. She was terrified that Derek would not want her here when he woke up.

Chapter 7 Potomac General Hospital – Morning – Fran, Sarah and Desiree sat quietly around Derek’s bed. A lot had happened since he’d been admitted two nights ago. They had come close to losing him in surgery and again by the man who’d shot him. Sam had thought he could out smart them all and take another chance at killing their son and brother. With each hour, the doctors became slightly more optimistic but there was still a long road ahead with no signs of Derek waking up.

Chapter 6 Potomac General Hospital – Fran and Penelope opened the door to Derek’s room and stepped inside. The sounds of monitors and the ventilator filled the otherwise silent room. Each stood on opposite sides of the bed as they fought their emotions at the sight of Derek’s still body. It was a miracle that he had survived. Penelope wanted to run but her feet would not move. It didn’t matter what Fran said she would blame herself for a long time.
