Malcolm, Michael, and Terry. Top Story - July 2025.
It's been very hard to be a member of what we call Generation X this week. The pain is too big to handle alone. My title might be a little confusing, so I will get that out of the way first: Malcolm-Jamal Warner, John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne, and Terry Gene Bollea ("Hulk Hogan") have all passed away, and my mind is in many different places as I type this out. The summer has been hot, financially unrewarding, full of news of insanity, violence and disappointment. It all seems so familiar. And to read about these losses and to have to go on with my day just seems ridiculous.

The First Film to Win an Oscar: Wings (1927)
Before the glitz of the red carpet, before Meryl Streep collected her first golden statue, and before movies spoke a single word—there was Wings. In a time when cinema was still discovering its voice, one film soared above the rest and etched its name into history. Wings (1927) wasn’t just the first Best Picture winner at the Academy Awards—it was a breathtaking war epic that proved film could be more than entertainment. It could be art.

She needs to be 14, he can be 40
Hello hello, I was watching this documentary the other day called Pretty baby. Where we follow the story of Brooke Shields and her career as a young girl in Hollywood. And the girl that was always showing her bossoms? That was Brooke at 14/15 years old. Her male co star tho? 18 years old, still young yes but not an underaged showing his bare body.

Open Letter to Astronaut
Dear Astronaut Executives, Board Members, PR Crisis Interns, and whoever’s still left monitoring the corporate Slack, I hear you're looking for a new CEO after your last one heroically resigned in the wake of the Coldplaygate debacle. Tragic stuff. A man felled not by fiscal mismanagement, a hostile takeover, or even a private jet scandal—but by Chris Martin’s dreamy falsetto and a poorly-timed photo op. Corporate martyrdom truly has a new face.

How Labubu Conquered the Toy World
“It’s not just a toy—it’s a viral movement wrapped in fuzzy fur and a devilish grin.” That’s how millions of fans describe Labubu, the wildly popular mischievous doll from the “The Monsters” series by Kasing Lung and Pop Mart. What began as a niche designer toy quietly sitting on collectors’ shelves has now exploded into a worldwide phenomenon, commanding long queues, soaring resale prices, and a cult-like following that rivals luxury brands.
