Conlanging 101
I’ve never been a fan of the Star Trek “pretty much human with a bump on the forehead” kind of alien. Nor for that matter, some of the languages made up for these fictional aliens. Take Klingon — spoken by warrior aliens with — sigh — bumpy foreheads. They have human-like mouths to the point that Klingon can be spoken by humans (albeit the guttural sounds take a little bit of getting used to) and is in fact a popular conlang for language nerds…I mean, conlang enthusiasts to learn. You can read Shakespeare in the original Klingon! (add link here), I kid you not. Oh, and Klingon script is alphabetic like most human languages.

M&M Christmas commercial is 25
M&M's and Santa: They do exist You know it's really the holiday season when the commercial airs where the Hershey Kisses play We wish you a merry Christmas and you see the M&M ad where Red and Santa both faint. This classic is now 25 years old and still filled with wonder as Santa Claus is near the tree as Red and Yellow M&M's walk into the room. Red says "He does exist" and Santa replies "They do exist" and both faint. This implies that each believes the other is only a myth until they come face to face.

Hope Is Like A Christmas Tree: The 5 Greatest Hanna-Barbera Christmas Specials
From the late 50s right through to the 90s, Joseph Hanna and William Barbera were two of the biggest names in television animation. Together, the duo created classic shows and characters such as The Flintstones, Huckleberry Hound, Yogi Bear, and many more. Most of Hanna-Barbera's most popular shows continued in reruns for decades after they originally aired, making the characters known and loved over multiple generations. Some, like Scooby Doo, have been rebooted numerous times, rarely leaving screens at all, while others have only been reimagined more recently, in the HBO Max series Jellystone!.

Rudolph The Rede-Nosed Reindeer is a beloved classic Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer is a holiday classic that premiered on December 6, 1964. Baby Boomers have enjoyed this animated treat along with children and grandchildren every year over the decades. There have been a few changes along the way such as the song Why am I such a misfit being replaced with a more upbeat We're a couple of misfits. The latter is a sad tale of Rudolph wondering why he is rejected because of his red nose. In the new version Rudolph and Hermie, the elf celebrate their differences.

My Geekery
Let me start out with a very ugly statement; Peter Pan is dead. Now let me explain. In my 20s and even into my 30s I never worried about time marching on. I looked at myself as the same never changing person. Then I was no longer able to ignore the changes that were going on. When my hair disappeared en mass I knew the fabled perpetual child no longer lived within me.
