A Look At Imperialism: The Kardashian-Jenner's
I am in a graduate class called Narration of Empire, where we contemplate aspects of empire and talk about an event/conflict/or period of time through the lens of empire. Throughout my studies I have been fascinated at the relationship between popular culture and politics. Who better than the Kardashian-Jenner family to deliciously unpack the impact of cultural imperialism.

5 Artists On Twitter To Help You Forget Being Scarred By Your Trending Topics - The Sequel!
A few years ago I wrote the very first article (linked here) after the incredible chaos that was January 3rd on Twitter. I thought that, perhaps, like me, others found the Main Characters to be nearly overpowering in their extraordinary . . . uh . . . travesties. But, oh! Twitter's been a radioactive mess from Friday to Wednesday. From revealing confessions of having never seen breasts in real life, to Matthew Perry's very bizarre marketing strategy- lots of healing that needs to go on here!

Let People Dislike Things
"Let people enjoy things." This has become the rallying cry of several corners of the Internet, and for good reason. Because people should be allowed to enjoy the things they like without shame, as long as it isn't hurting anyone. The customer is always right in matters of taste, as the saying goes, which means that whether you like cheesy horror movies, watching cartoons about the magic of friendship, or consuming the darkest, most nihilistic tales of the most over-the-top sci-fi, you should be allowed to like those things without people coming in to rain on your parade.

The Legacy of Robbie Coltrane
Dearly departed great actor Robbie Coltrane died at age 72. The sad actor died it's unclear if he was sick or not. I will deeply saddened by this because I loved Rubeus Hagrid. He was the most gentle giant, the best casting in the Harry Potter series was when they casted Robbie Coltrane.

How One Minecraft Video Proves The Futility of Increasing Police Budgets
Policing is a contentious issue in the US. As crime increases (though it is still far lower than our country's high in the 90s), a lot of politicians are saying that we need to increase police budgets so we can hire more officers. 46th President of the US, Joe Biden, has made repeated requests for increased police budgets, and the same proposals have been made by mayors and governors across the country.

I love social media but I also love Be Real
Hello, Vocal Media readers! The following post was originally published on my blog https://justabucketlistdream.com/ On -8/12/2022. A few things have changed since I wrote that post. I still use this app but not as much as I used to. I have missed a good amount of days when it comes to posting on Be Real but I still post a fair amount on it. After using this app for a few months I still highly recommend downloading it and giving it a try. It is truly a unique social media platform that is worth trying out even if you are not a fan of social media. That being said if you are a fan of social media like me, do not let the reviews that say this app is anti social media prevent you from giving it a try. The overall feel of this platform is light hearted and fun. There is a less pressure to look a certain way and that is why people say that this app is against social media. However, I do not get that feel at all when I use this app. It feels like a fun place to post photos of the everyday moments in life that you would not normally post. This app does seem to be more popular with the teenage crowd but I think it is a good fit for any age. With all that being said please read the original post below.
