The Bachelor Franchise Has a Race Problem
I make no secret of the fact that I’m a proud member of Bachelor Nation. I ignore the haters, the ones that don't understand the show's appeal. The Bachelor and all of its respective spin-offs are my brain candy. When I learned one of my favorite people from the last season of The Bachelor, Rachel Lindsay, had been selected as the new Bachelorette, I was ecstatic! She is a perfect choice. Well-liked by the audience and by the women with whom she competed for Nick Viall’s love, and one of the few people of color on any of the shows to make it to the final three, the show’s producers knew they were capturing lightning in a bottle.

Drifters
Being a fan of anime series, finding stories about a person sent to another world is no new occurrence. From classics to the recent animes, this kind of action-fantasies caught us in awe, however, most of these stories had become repetitive and mostly predictable. So, what if someone adds a twist in it? Instead of sending helpless teenage boys and girls into a world of magic and chaos, what if we actually get to see some skillful people, masters of their field, who had created history, show off their insane abilities in a different world?

Sliders
Sliders is a US television series which ran from 1995 to 2000 with seasons 1 to 3 shown originally on Fox, with the show moving to Scifi Channel for the final two seasons. It is a twist on the science-fiction time-travel genre. Instead of travelling through time and space, the principle characters travel across dimensions.

But Can We Still Like the Huxtables?
I’m pretty sure Bill Cosby is guilty, a friend says to me, but can we still like the Huxtables? In a word - no. The Cosby Show was the only show about African-Americans on television for a while when I was a kid. I thought Lisa Bonet was the essence of bohemian cool and wanted to be just like her when I grew up. I had a crush on Malcolm-Jamal Warner, as did every other girl in my class. So, I used to understand when people asked me this question. Years ago, before the number of victims began to rise, topping out at 60 last I counted. Before I discovered a news story from the 1980’s, where Cosby’s own daughter was sexually assaulted by a well-known public figure and Cosby advocated on the perpetrator's behalf, negotiating a deal to get her attacker psychological therapy instead of jail time. By all accounts, he attended one session. I’m sure he’s reformed. Cosby’s daughter was going through a dark time that year and she and her father were estranged. Her father seemed to blame her, at least partially, for the assault, based on his statements.

Twin Peaks, and How To Enjoy It
Twin Peaks Season 3 is now in progress, and so far the show has been getting a lot of mixed reception. The criticism has been mostly focused on the show’s pacing which has been very, very slow; unlike the original series, there has been a lack of humor and the general genre-bending that the show usually employs. The show, so far, isn’t providing the audience with any real form of exposition, and the plot is incoherent, at best. However, I think the real reason the show has gotten the reaction it has, is because everything feels different, maybe even unfamiliar.

Twin Peaks 2017: Part 7 - There's a Body Alright
For fans who have felt The Return has been too slow in driving the plot, has strayed a bit too far from the tone and narrative style of the first two seasons, then "Part 7" must have provided a huge sense of relief for them; "There's A Body Alright" did more to evoke the original Twin Peaks and move the story along than any episode yet. I've spoken plenty about embracing the evolution of Twin Peaks, it's bigger scope, it's deliberate pacing and it's advancements in visual storytelling, but I'll be the first to admit I thoroughly appreciated the warm hug of nostalgia this episode gave us.

Battle of The Anime Bad-Asses
Like Fight Club, there are some unspoken rules to being a bad-ass in anime. The first rule of being a bad-ass: A bad-ass does not purposely try to be a bad-ass. A bad-ass is simply a bad-ass. Period. Second: A bad-ass does what he wants, when he wants and how he wants. He follows his own path, lives by his own rules and stands by his own decisions. Third: A bad-ass must have the ability to kick anyone's ass, without as much as breaking a sweat, and still look amazing doing it. Fourth: A bad-ass gets shit done, fearlessly and confidently, and does it in a really cool way. Fifth: A bad-ass NEVER gives up. A bad-ass can take down anyone who crosses him, without even thinking about it. If he has a goal in mind, he won't stop until it's achieved, even while being badly injured, near death or dead.
