Living with the Dead
Hello everyone, this is my first time joining the world of writing and I'm quite excited. I have been trying to figure out what I wanted to write about when I decided it should be something a lot of people are interested in yet not many believe in. So these are my personal experiences with the dead, take it as you will I just wanted to get it out there and maybe compare with others.

Epidemic
Echoes of thunder and sharp piercing lightning streaks peek through the heavy grey clouds illuminating the dark sky. This morning marks the anniversary. A full year has passed and still no cure; my memories are slowly disappearing. We all thought it was a flu at first, but it spread so rapidly we couldn’t put any precautions in place, not that they would have helped anyways.

The Pedestrian
She began her trip back home. Hot drink in hand, fogging the air around her as she walked. Clouds forming in front of her in the night sky. Her watch read 3:45am but when she was walking, boots crunching on the fall leaves that had taken their last breath tumbling to the concrete below, she felt as though time didn’t exist and her seconds, minutes, hours were endless.

EVANN Beep! Beep! Beep! Evann woke with a start, his heart pounding in his chest. He could feel the blood thundering through his head. His pulse sounded as loud as his alarm, and he felt nauseous. Ashlyn's Darkness
It's happening again, mommy and daddy are fighting. I sit in the far corner of my room and hide my face behind my knees, I just want the fighting to stop. "The drinking has to stop Tommy! I can't take it anymore! You have to choose, the booze or your family!" Mom yells from the kitchen. I flinch when I hear loud slapping sound follow her words, mom screams and begs for daddy to stop. I cover my ears and close my eyes tight, just block out the noise, that's what she always tells me.

Why I Hate Sleeping
When I tell people I hate sleeping, they are generally shocked by this confession. And to be fair, I can see where people are coming from. Our society and societies around the world love sleep. A time to rest, relax, and dream of new worlds. People find sleep to be one of the few undisputed pleasures this world has to offer, but I don't experience sleep as much of the population may seem to.
