Another volume for the shelves, another tale of woe. The depression of my life snakes its way through my mind and down my arm to the fingers that hold its escape. I stared at the paper, my eyes following the quick strokes of my pencil as I laid my woes into my journal. Many people had told me it would or should help after I refused to take drugs. According the psychiatrist, it was supposed to alleviate some of the stress on my mind, free my thoughts of such negativity. I never saw it as negativity, though. It was just me facing the truth that was many times avoided. Each entry had the date at the top of it and contained every “bad” thought I’d had that day. Most of them started with the insistence of my parents to take the drugs that had been prescribed for me. I refused, just as I had always done.

The 5 Most Forgotten Scary Movies
Every kid has that scary movie their parents told them they couldn't watch, but snuck into the room and peaked around the corner only to be scarred for the next twenty years of their life. Those movies stick with you, and later, when you're of age, you track them down just to be reminded of how scary they were. It's hard to forget them, but as I get older, I find that most of my friends are like: "What movie? What are you talking about?"

My Dreams; They Haunt Me
I walk around my gloomy house feeling the shiver of a cold spirit following my every turn. The floor boards creek under my every step, followed by the echo of my haunting shadow whom I never see. As I enter the hallway to my room, I quicken my steps in order to hopefully lose the ghost I seem to have present, or in my mind. As I reach my door, I can hear it approaching; taking its time as it seems to be struggling to follow me. As I enter my room, I shut the door and lock it; the steps are now on the other side, unable to cross the barrier I've put up.

Consequences of Deviation
Colbert Wells had done nothing particularly exciting in his 38 revolutions around the sun. After 38 years he had found no passion, no love and a job in a gray office to match his gray life. He had few interests and exceedingly odd ones at that. He enjoyed the absence of others. He enjoyed organizing and reorganizing his shelves. He enjoyed blank canvases and empty containers. The only thing that really ignited the fire surrounding his heart were his trips to the grocery. He felt, what he may describe, as an incredible thrill, walking down the aisles. Observing the pristine organization of the shelves, the hum of the fridges. The harsh lights that shone almost white bounced off the tile floors in a way that made his heart skip a beat. He craved these strolls through the aisles, sometimes only looking at the stock. The fridges filled with fish sticks, frozen pizzas and whatever else. Usually, he didn’t even buy anything. He just browsed, often for hours. He went absurdly early. When the floors had been freshly cleaned and bounced light off of them even more effectively. Before the hordes of people poured into the store, mussing about with the organized shelves, pushing and moving the items, their kids wailing on the floors or drooling in the carriages. These things made him suppress bile that rose in the back of his throat. These people ruined his favorite place.

Being an avid horror fan myself, I am acutely aware of how rare it is these days to come across a horror film that actually satisfies my need for terror, shock and gore. Especially in mainstream cinema there seems to be a lot of repetition when it comes to storyline, average acting skills and predictable outcomes. However, there have been a fair few films that have stayed with me long after viewing for all the right reasons. Inventive and creative directing, unusual characters and truly terrifying situations make these 5 films some of the best horror films in recent times.

Memory Lane with the 'Insidious' Franchise
There is something about the 'Insidious' franchise that is ridiculously entertaining even though they can be extreme and over-the-top a lot of the time. However, I can honestly say that I’m guilty of not only seeing all the 'Insidious' films in theaters, but purchasing them as well. For example, I will be seeing Insidious: The Last Key in theaters and, once it’s out on DVD, I will be buying it as well. Now, because the new 'Insidious' has recently been released, I thought I’d go down memory lane when it comes to the franchise. I wanted to start with the beginning, the original, the first 'Insidious' film.

Never Let Go
“Never let me go” were the last words I heard before I woke. Never Let Go I opened my eyes to stare at the ceiling. I knew whose voice spoke the words and that was why my heart felt so hollow. It had been mere months since her death and each day it became harder to carry on. I couldn’t even bring myself to leave the town and each night was rewarded with painful memories. The painful part being that they reminded me that I could never see her again. My eyes began to water and I blinked several times, fighting back the tears. In this new world, crying was a sign of weakness.
