Hell Of A Guy
These fucking amateurs, Eddie thought derisively, have no idea what they're doing. Eddie was in Hell. No, not Michigan. Hell, as in the biblical place of damnation and endless suffering. And sure, Eddie had known he was going to hell from the time he skinned his first linebacker at age 14- he had prepared himself for an eternity spent burning as he progressed from librarians to underpaid and misinformed museum tour guides . . . he had a pain kink, anyway. He was prepared for eternal torture that outstripped anything that he could do. But, Jesus Christ on a pogo stick he was not expecting this.

Types of domestic evil spirits: who else lives with you
The house is always full of tenants, both visible and not visible to the ordinary human eye. The most famous, perhaps, otherworldly inhabitant is a Brownie. But besides him, Evil Spirits and many other creatures can live at home. Each creature is special and has its own special functions, sometimes useful and sometimes destructive. Let's talk about them in more detail.

Face Of Horror
Hello all! I have entered a contest, called Face of Horror. My link is everywhere throughout this story and title, https://faceofhorror.org/2022/marleen-nish. The first round started yesterday Sept, 6th, 2022, and goes through Sept, 15th, 2022. If I get enough DAILY votes I will move onto the second round from the 15th through the 22nd (according to the rules, I am assuming the 15th is a half day.) Again, if I get enough votes I will move on to the third round from Sept 22nd through the 29th. The fourth round is from Sept 29th through Oct, 6th 2022. The fifth round is from Oct 6th through the 13th. The sixth round from Oct 14th through the 16th (I'm not sure if they just realized they were splitting days or just gave us the full day at this point.) The seventh round is from Oct 17th through the 27th. The eighth round is from Oct 28th through Nov, 3rd, 2022 and the Ninth & final round is from Nov, 3rd through the 10th where they will announce the winner. The winner will get a life-changing 13K, a photo op with the actor who plays Jason Voorhees in Jason, a 2 or 3-night stay at Buffalo Bill's house from Silence of the Lambs (the one with the well), and a walk on role to a horror movie. If I win this contest I would finally be able to start my SFX mask-making business & catch up on my bills. Please click on the link & vote. You can vote once daily for free. If you use the Facebook verification then you do not even have to put in your card info. Thanks in advance. The link is: https://faceofhorror.org/2022/marleen-nish

A Closer Look at Joyce Carol Oates’ ‘Pumpkin Head’
A Woman Alone When I first read Joyce Carol Oates’ short story “Pumpkin Head,” I was so frightened that I didn’t want to be in my apartment alone afterward. Her stories have scared me before, but this experience was quite unsettling. As with most horror stories, the shock wore off with time, yet her characters continued to haunt me long after meeting them on the page. Perhaps it was her female protagonist — Hadley — whom I identified with so much that I could not forget her vulnerability as a woman living alone. As I sit here in my candle-lit apartment listening to the roll of distant thunder, I remember Oates’ story a decade later as we approach Halloween — the season of pumpkins and stories that make our skin crawl.

Timberline. Top Story - September 2022.
The silence is absolute, as if time never began here and never will. How can I describe it? As if a wall of glass has been placed by the great hand of a God in the midst of the forest, and no living thing may pass. The trees crowd against their limit, aching to reach into the barren land, and their longing embitters them. They grow twisted, their bark black and limbs contorted.
