Reed Alexander's Horror Review of Netflix's 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' (2022)
Yeah, anyone who complained about this extension of the TCM franchise clearly isn't a fan. It was everything it was supposed to fucking be. I mean, the second and third instalments of the franchise were fucking nuts. They were barely coherent. I could genuinely understand why people wouldn't like TCM 2 or TCM The Next Generation. They're simply not everyone's cup of horror tea. I fucking loved them, but that's the kind of bonkers nonsense I'm into. So sure, plenty of the TCM franchise isn't for everyone. But this had everything it should have. Violence, gore, and an undertone of social commentary. Like... what the fuck were people expecting? The damn franchise is about a guy who wears other people's faces and wields a chainsaw. When it's not going completely off the fucking rails like The Next Generation, it should just be about gore and violence.

Fictional Horror
Spooky season is quickly approaching, unlike the slow yet, somehow always on time strides of the typical slasher film villain. It has me thinking a little bit about that but not so much what you might suspect would be in anyone's thoughts on the subject. Allow me to elaborate.

12 Hours
They tell you when you start to prepare yourself to work for twelve hours. Most of us had come from jobs where we worked eight hours a day, nine to five, from Monday to Friday. I had been an office drone when I found this job in the paper, and it had been an easy choice to switch to a job that would nearly double my take-home pay. I had accrued my share of debt in college, and my student loans were high enough to keep me under the company's thumb until I retired. With the level of pay I was receiving from the prison, however, I could afford to be out of debt in a decade instead of thirty years.

"So Vam" review
“Queer vampires” is a whole ass vibe. But while I highly respect the notion of the film, it holds a lot of room for growth. So Vam is campy front to back, which can be a big part of the fun for viewers who enjoy low-grade horror flicks. And when taking into consideration the writer/director Alice Maio Mackay was only sixteen during production, with a low budget of twelve thousand dollars, this film is actually quite impressive. I’m anxious to watch this budding filmmaker grow and continue to make movies with strong messages. Still, this production could use a bit of polish.

Orphan: First Kill - A Movie Review
Be careful about Esther. She has a peculiar background. Orphan: First Kill is a 2022 prequel to the 2009 film. Orchestrating an escape from the Saarne Institute in Estonia, Esther impersonates a long-lost daughter of the Albright family. Traveling to America, Esther’s performance is not met by everyone.

Glorious: A Review
Have you ever wondered what a conversation would be like with a god trapped in a stall in a dirty rest stop bathroom? Yeah, me neither. Nonetheless, this is what director Rebekah McKendry explores in Glorious–a horror flick whose subgenre I simply can’t decide. Is it a creature feature? If you consider the god “Ghat” a creature then yes, however you only ever see his floating gelatinous ass. Is it psychological thriller? For the main character Wes, maybe, but mostly just confusing for the viewer. So how can I describe this film?

Nope review: Is Jordan Peele's latest sci-fi horror his best film yet?
In 2017, Jordan Peele, best known, at the time, for his comedy work on the popular sitcom Key and Peele, and a variety of feature film outings, including Keanu, shocked cinemagoers around the world with his horror film debut, Get Out, which singularly redefined the genre, receiving critical acclaim and later earning the director/writer his first Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. The mixed response from audiences over its genre notwithstanding (something Peele later lamented when acknowledging the genre confusion caused by the Oscar-winning flick), Peele created something truly special with Get Out, providing a terrifying and wholly unique look at liberal racism through intensely provocative social commentary and a deeply unsettling premise.

My God
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. But this astronaut was hearing them filtering through the static of the intercom. She was too afraid to move so she sat still curling her fingers around the cold metal of a crucifix that hung preciously down in front of her throat, offering her some comfort. The astronaut closed her eyes and muttered a prayer under several deep heavy breaths.
