Creatures, Cryptids, and Legends of the States
Frozen Bigfoot A rare bigfoot discovery happened in Atlanta, Georgia, on 19 August 2008. This discovery was one that made many prick their ears up to. Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, self-proclaimed Bigfoot trackers, claimed they discovered the corpse of a real half-human half-ape creature. Many were ready to write it off as another phony sighting or a hoax until the two publicly said they had it stored in a freezer, released detailed and up-close pictures of it, and even agreed to let anyone perform a test on the corpse that wanted to. This made many believe in the possibility a real sasquatch was found.

A Cambodian Ghost Story
Squilch. Munch. I stood in front of a tiny hut made of wooden panels and palm mats raised atop wooden stilts. The makeshift window to the hut’s left was made of the same material and propped open with a small stick, just a smidge. I looked at the door-less entrance and with the dim light of the waning moon, I was able to see a pair of calloused, dirty feet laying limply on the ground.

The Anniversary of Mrs Mable’s Death
Every town has a ghost story that has been passed down from each generation to the next. The small town of Whisper’s Creek was no different. Each Halloween, groups of children would whisper the urban legend to the new kids in town.

Five friends. Five life long dear old friends. You know the kind. The kind of friends that heard your first farts. Saw your first trips and accidents. First fights and first loves. Yes all through middle school, Katie, Mary, Ashlee, Greg and Mark have been best of friends and as they say, "Been through it all and hell and back!" They would cheer as a group, usually after shots of tequila.

Smerlina
Every bar has it's ghost story. Makes sense when you think of it, they are full of spirits. Haha, get it, you know, booze, spirits. There are some people who don't drink at all out of fear of being filled with a spirit. There are practitioner's who refuse to practice magic while intoxicated because the barrier between the living and the dead becomes so thin. There are others who offer liquor on their alters to appease the spirits of the dead. I'm going to tell you a story that may make you think the next time you are in a bar drinking and the music is playing. It's the story of a body borrower. You may hear some people in those polite circles of love and light refer to a similar experience as "channeling." If it's ok for us to accept Abraham Hicks and Sylvia Browne's Francine, see how you feel about accepting Smerlina.

Jack O Lantern the legend of Stingy Jack.
Every year in October, people carve pumpkins into what have become known as Jack O Lanterns. Sometimes candles are lit and put inside. Sometimes children go trick or treating and put their candy inside of a plastic pumpkin with a handle. There is a lot of folklore related to the Jack O Lantern. Depending on who is telling the story, the lead character of this Halloween tale also goes by other names including Jack the Smith, Flaky Jack, Drunk Jack, and Stingy Jack. This is a mythical character who is associated with All Hallows Eve and there are several legends about him. I will share here the most popular one.

An Encounter With Tata Duende
It was a late evening playing outside on the farm waiting for dusk to come in. I was just a nine year old boy entertaining myself playing marbles on a patch of dirt I had found on the land. By this time I had played with my brothers and now playing by myself as I was obsessed with the nature of the game. All of a sudden a strange little kid appeared in front of me and asked if he could play. I looked around and was shocked that I could not see him approaching as I was stationed in an open area on the farm. I didn't linger on the issue and accepted the kid's request as I proceeded to lay out the rules of my game. He did not have any marbles of his own so I was disappointed that I would not be able to play for keeps. Nevertheless, I shared mine with him and the games commenced.

Ending of a fiasco, beginning of a Nightmare
So now I'm desperately calling for days trying to find someone to get me a plane ticket home, as getting a job didn’t work out too well. I can’t call Dad, I never want him to think I’m a failure, and I know he doesn’t have any money at the moment either. Then finally I got ahold of the always trustworthy Uncle Vic.
