20 Best Hair Care Tips And Tricks For Women

Remember, Home Care Is Very Important

1- Cut hair ends (split ends) every 3 months.

2- Use Medical Shampoo or sulfate free shampoo.

3- Make bath cream twice a week.

4- Use serums to nourish and reinforce weakened hair.

5- When you wash your hair every day it strips away the natural oils and proteins that you need to keep your hair and scalp healthy, so try to limit hair washing to three times a week if you can.

6- The curlier your hair is, the longer you can go between washes. The finer and straighter your hair is, the faster the oil wicks down. So if you have super straight hair, you may not be able to go more than two days without washing.

7- When washing the hair, use your fingertips to massage the scalp in gentle circular motions to stimulate blood flow and promote the healthy growth of new hair.

8- Remember, dry shampoo is your friend, use a little dry shampoo in between washes to soak up excess oil.

9- When you dry your hair at home always use a heat protector and be sure not to hold the hair dryer too close to your lengths to prevent split and fluffy ends.

10- Avoid "bad habits" like pulling at your hair, keeping it in very tight styles, smoking, UV and crash dieting. Also heated tools, stress and nutrition (vitamin deficiency) have been directly linked to poor hair quality.

11- Think of your hair like your skin, what you put on it will affect it. Investing in good quality products and tools will keep your hair looking and feeling healthy and strong.

12- For perfectly shiny, healthy and untangled hair, you should brush your hair twice a day. Once in the morning and once before going to bed, for about a minute each time.

13- Brushing from the roots causes damage, so always brush from the bottom and work up especially if you have long hair.

14- Keep your brushes clean and free of dead hair, oil and product build-up by washing them in a mixture of baking soda and warm water once a month.

15- At home, you should have a round brush for blow-drying, a Mason Pearson brush for styling and a tail comb to move hair around a little.

16- While you exercising, you perspire which means that your hair gets damp with sweat that can actually make it dry. So before you hit the gym (especially during the summer, but this works year-round too) wet your hair and add in some conditioner from the mid-lengths to the ends then rinse out the conditioner post-workout and you’ll be left with shiny and hydrated hair.

17- If you noticed hair loss after pregnancy (postpartum hair loss) don't worry it's normal. It’s believed to be due to hormones, oestrogen in particular, which increases during pregnancy. But you’ve to check in with your doctor to confirm you’re experiencing postpartum hair loss. Your hair should start growing back normally in a few months. To stimulate your hair to grow back quicker and thicker you should :

First, apply gentle pressure to the scalp with your finger tips or hands that helps blood flow across the head and optimise healthy new hair regrowth. Brushing the scalp every night can also stimulate blood circulation but make sure you’re using the right kind of hairbrush. Avoid metal teeth and combs which can hurt the scalp and tug at the hair. A soft natural bristle brush can help massage the scalp and reduce breakage.

Second, right hair care can also set your locks on the right path to volume. Using a thickening shampoo and conditioner help your hair look and feel thicker, denser and lifted.

18- Natural hair mask for dry hair: pure coconut oil and organic honey (half-half) .

Heat the mixture together until they melt, then leave to cool and apply to your hair and ends. Rinse out your hair after 15-20 minutes. For thinner hair add some natural yogurt to the mask once cooled.

19- Natural hair mask for oily hair: apple cider vinegar and tea tree oil (10 drops).

Mix them with one part water and rinse over your hair post-shampooing. Use your fingertips to gently massage into the scalp then rinse thoroughly. You could also use this as a conditioning leave-in spray to help against dandruff.

20- Natural hair mask for coloured hair: banana (one) and sweet almond oil (10 drops).

Mash the banana into a paste and add the sweet almond oil. Use as a paste after rinsing and part-drying hair. Leave it for 30 minutes then rinse out with shampoo (always make sure you’re using a shampoo and conditioner for colour-treated hair).
