In the UK it is legal to have a baby at 16

But you cant have a house in your name until your 18

It is legal to have a baby at 16

but you cant smoke a cigarette until your 18

It is legal to have a baby at 16

but you cant purchase alcohol until your 18

It is legal to have a baby at 16

but you cant Vote for your government until your 18

It is legal to have a baby at 16

But you cant learn to drive a car until your 17

It is legal to have a baby at 16

But you cant gamble until your 18

It is legal to have a baby at 16

But you are not allowed a credit card until your 18

It is legal to have a baby at 16

But you cant get a tattoo until your 18

It is legal to have a baby at 16

But you cant have a bank account without parental consent until your 18

How does it make sense?

A Baby a real baby

Why is it possible that its legal for someone of the age of 16 to consent to sexual activity and to have a child but it isn't a possibility to go out with friends and have a drink, they cant go out and get a silly tattoo that they will probably regret in 10 years. They are not trusted enough to have a credit card because there to young to be in a credit agreement. Why? Because there to young, they are not trusted. But they are trusted enough to bring a child into the world?

It is legal to have a baby at 16

But you cannot join the fire service until your 18

It is legal to have a baby at 16

But you cannot buy fireworks until your 18

It is legal to have a baby at 16

But you cant join the police force until your 17

It is legal to have a baby at 16

But you cant teach your friend to drive until your 21

Am i going crazy? Most of these laws make total sense to me. Of course you cant have a credit card until your 18. of course you cant have a house until your 18. But you can bring life into the world.

Although i recognise that You do get support from the government if you do have a baby at 16. you can get help financially and are also entitled to grants that help with the costs for a baby, Should we be allowed to bring life into the world before we even lived our own? Shouldn't the age of consent be 18? The age that you can do almost everything else. Yes, most of us have done all the stuff were not supposed to do before we turn 18, thats just the life for most teenagers. But why are we permitted to have a baby, a lifelong commitment, before we have even left school, before we even know who we are, before we know about life.

How many people at 16 really understand the bills that will need to be paid, when they eventually at 18, are aloud there own house, how are they to know how to manage money, how are they know how to look after a baby when they barely are able to look after themselves. Many parents have had babies young and have been brilliant, but why is it a law? Inst having a child for you entire life the biggest decision you'll ever make?

Shouldn't the age for everything be 18?
