I am a strange woman, to say the least. I am a cat lady with literally a dozen kitties. Most are the ones considered unadoptable, but I love them all.
I met a man last year who has been such a surprise blessing to me. We are not romantically involved. His name is Greg.
I live off grid in a 5th wheel camper that I have been renovating. In early 2019, I bought 10 acres of land quite remote. I moved to this land in a tent. Greg has helped me so much.
Living on SSI makes the budget so tight it screams. Many times I have done without just so the kitties had food, or I had propane to cook / heat with or gas to run the generator. My small solar system struggles even on a good day.
Greg has given me so much though. He helped me upgrade the generator to a much larger one. He gave me a microwave, toaster oven, vacuum and so many other little things!!!!!
His generosity did not stop there though. He gave me a car, an older PT Cruiser that ran great for a few weeks but then the motor locked up. He runs all of my errands, does my shopping. I am at risk for the virus so I stay home all the time.
He is giving me a Santa Fe in the next couple of weeks. It runs great. He is having it serviced right now!
But, for 2 years I have struggled to keep my home heated in the winter. The TINY propane heater I have barely heats 2 small rooms. It is also a danger to use around the kitties because they can knock it over easily. It does have a shut off if it tips, but you never know. So, when I go to bed I turn the heat off and thus wake up to a near freezing home in the morning.
My birthday was the 14th. For my birthday, Greg bought me a wall mount propane heater that is SAFE and I can leave on while I sleep!!!! I still need to install it since it arrived yesterday, but I am so grateful for this!!!!
You have no idea how difficult it is to set up bare land while your only income is SSI. At times I have had no money for propane and went without heat and cooked on an open fire. I am working on getting running water now, I have 2 tanks but getting a delivery has been difficult.
With Greg's help things have been moving much more smoothly though and for that I feel so blessed to have met him. Although I still rough it, things are getting better! I am boosting the solar, running new wiring and plumbing.
I hope he knows how much I really do appreciate everything he does! He has given me so much! I am so excited about the Santa Fe I can hardly wait!!!!!
