It all started within my mother’s quick afternoon hangout session with me, unable to recall every particular detail, however, I can briefly say it was one sunny bright afternoon during the weekend, where she walked into my room as I held on to my little notepad, mostly used for random writing on occasion to occasion. She grabbed it from my hand and simply began sketching, so effortlessly like air she ran that pencil on the paper, personally having no clue what she’d draw, I starred, focused deeply towards her expression, she seemed, out of so long in time, to have awakened something inside of her in which she had been keeping hidden, almost abandoned, the look on her face, it lightened up.

The instant my mother turned that notepad around and told me with a smile to look, I was in awe with what I’d seen. To be in awe isn’t even describing my reaction, it’s more so I’d discover what my purpose in life was that very moment. We connected that afternoon, you know what was on the notepad do you? Sketches of dresses she’d dream of designing, crafting to life. Her mind created a whole collection, an empire of dreams was behind every single design.

Lo sentí, I felt it, they meant everything to her, it’s as if she’s been waiting to get the opportunity to draw.

I wholeheartedly still hold on to the notepad, maintaining it in a small box back home within other significant items throughout my life.

It’s come to my attention, how whenever you are promoting yourself to the world, you are showcasing who you are. You are your own brand.

Much may not apply too much attention to this, however it is very clear our character is shown through our actions, what we do offline as well as online.

When someone supports your work, purchases your products or even sponsors you, there is a whole fiber network which inspires whom ever comes across you.

It’s important not to lack how much today can affect tomorrow, the future is in the hands of the present.

Working in any field comes with recognizing you will come across people of all background, mindset, once you know how to brand yourself you will have solid confidence alongside strong skills to lead, trusting yourself is key.

This happened suddenly; truthfully was inspired by one particular episode in my life, by one person. I realized fashion and sports combine so well, so perfectly, which led me to understand designing based on sports is a line with so much potential.

If you look closely, journalism works in so many ways. I've been writing for years, yet I've focused on one area the most, and it all clicked together. If something doesn’t change, you can make the next move. The key to journalism really is building an active network and staying up to date with current events happening within your field of interest. Remember, being authentic when releasing any new information proves the significance of the story.

My Primary Sources of Inspiration

My inspiration is deeply rooted in my culture, personal experiences and personality.

As one embarks on a journey you also connect with self-discovery, and the realization of one’s passions becomes increasingly evident.

My ultimate ambition is to bring to life designs that have yet to exist.

What fuels me in building a community within our Latino population is in the fact of how tough we are as individuals.

Attending my first fashion show back in 2022 during my freshman year of college, couldn’t say I loved everything I saw,

however one designer stood out to me the most not only because he was from Mexico, his designs were created to make a movement against deportation within Mexicans living in the United States.

Reading United States can seem ironic to me because how is any of this being United? How is any of this okay in a country that doesn’t belong to anyone, this whole world doesn’t belong to us precisely, we are fortunate enough to live in such a world that has so much to offer.

I remember being so disappointed in the world until it became clear the only way to view it was

positively making it better by being better, by doing what you can. In the end there is only so much one

can do .

To come to my conclusion, this will be my part of making a movement for us, for my community. Its one of the smallest contribution just yet.

Since we all love to wear nice clothes why not it be for a cause?
