Preparing Your Workplace Post Lockdown
We are in the midst of a change that will see the way we work in an office environment changed forever. The pace of change that has been brought about by the Covid-19 crisis means that there are new ways of working that have to get used to from here on out. With many workers being furloughed and the vast majority now taking part in the so-called “world’s biggest working from home experiment” for the last few months, we have recently seen some light at the end of the tunnel.

The Violet Project Diaries - Entry 2 - Don’t Be Perfect or Lazy
Warm Up: I published a poem called “Winged” earlier. I don’t know why my stomach is churning. It’s almost nausea, but it’s not sickness. I know it’s nerves, but it’s quite uncomfortable. So referring to the first entry… yeah I have a difficult time posting any kind of work as is sometimes. I don’t mind critiques or anything, but there’s something different about, this… You know what my problem is? Everything has to be a project. Everything I do has to be ridiculously complicated so it feels “wrong” that I did something simple, like publishing an expressive poem online rather than adding it to an elaborate collection of poetry that is carefully planned. See, I’m glad this happened because this is exactly the kind of thing that holds me back from actually developing my career. I make it incredibly hard and set these crazy high standards for myself so I’m forever lost in a limbo of neither success or failure. How ridiculous! I don’t mind putting in the work I need to do, but I really need to knock off the perfectionism nonsense. It’s a creativity killer.

The Violet Project Diaries - Entry 1
My scattered brain has buried me into new projects time and time again. I initially started a blog to keep track of my own progress and it did help me get the first draft done. Now here I am with the second draft, swaying back and forth between that and any other new project that pops into my head. It’s aggravating realizing only now that this was a strange procrastination technique masquerading as productive career building.

Table for Six
It was a scorcher of a Friday evening at the ol’ Outback Steakhouse, the restaurant would officially open in just a few moments, and the lobby was already packed! And, to top it all off, I was given my favorite section of tables to wait on. Oooh baby, I’m gonna be making some loot tonight!

Cruise Ship Diaries Part 1
Prologue Since the outbreak of COVID-19 the cruise industry has been hit very hard, with at the time of writing this many crew still stuck on ships having not set foot on land for over 2 months. Trying to repatriate the crews worldwide has become a logistical nightmare for the schedulers as seemingly many countries will not let the crew disembark because of COVID-19 fear.

Becoming a Makeup Artist, Creative Inspiration, and A Look Inside My Apartment. Top Story - May 2020.
I recently did a fun behind-the-scenes video about my life. I've been collecting small paintings, prints, and one very special trophy. Join me in my cozy space, meet my chihuahuas, and check out the art and objects that inspire me. My apartment was chosen specifically because I wanted a smaller apartment than my last one so I could go to work, come home to a neat organized space, and basically just get ready for the next phase of my life. I would love to get back to gardening, hobbies, and cooking more, but in the meantime, I’m in full work mode!

How To Make Working From Home Work
Working from home is difficult because your home is stuffed full of habits that are generally nothing to do with work. You don’t want to lose those habits- after all, you’re going to need them again if you don’t want to drown under piles of unwashed dishes and laundry!
