The Chameleon
My story: the CliffNotes version. My parents were divorced before I was born. Each parent remarried. Between the two of them I went through four step-parents. I was moved across the country and back before I reached high school. I grew up with the strong notion that everything and everyone was temporary and replaceable. I never liked to grow strong attachments to anything or anyone.

Homeward Bound
I am up late. Again. But tonight, it's different. It's an unusually warm night. There's a breeze; not enough to be disturbing, but enough to make the leaves on the trees rustle, and to make the stars look especially bright. I feel good tonight. I have not had a drop to drink, and I ate a normal meal.

The Rarity of Snow
Tuesday morning I awoke to a blanket of snow. This was something very unexpected. Here in the UK when snow falls, it does not promise to stick. In the region I live in, the snow seemed to keep missing us over the last few months. So, when I saw that it was to snow, I ignored it. I went about my morning keeping the blinds down, ignoring the world outside. That was until I glanced out the bathroom window and saw the hazy gleam of white. I rushed to the spare room window and gazed intently out at the white expanse before me. The snow was here and it was falling thick and fast.

Self Love
I know self love can be one of the hardest things a person can do. It has taken me years upon years to look at myself in the mirror and love who I am. In a society where we're taught that what we are isn't enough, loving who you are is a long and sometimes painful process. We're often told that how we look isn't what society deems "beautiful." Fads and beauty trends change every year and it's hard to keep up, especially when you're young and changing. You could be the "it" girl/boy and the next year, that look is out and you're back to being shamed for not having that "it" look.

Sometimes You Gotta Ask Yourself
1. How did you go from an extroverted personality to more of an introverted personality? Puberty started the closed and standoffish personality. My body was changing and so were my thoughts and perspectives of people and the world. When I entered 7th grade I became more opinionated. It wasn't until that day I discovered I lost my voice. Not by a teacher but by another student. After that day my philosophy became "The more I stay quiet, the happier I would be." I discovered that that was one of the worst mistakes of my life.

Rose
I didn't even know how to spell my middle name until I was six. My mom made up our names, so we were destined to be different. She didn't think about the possibility of us not being hired or ridiculed because of them, she was thinking about the uniqueness we would represent because we were HER children, and dared someone to think differently.

A Post for Those Who Don't Know Where or Who They Are Yet
As cliché as it is, life is just one big what if. Everything happens for a reason—a quote I've always passed on situations, and an ex boyfriend who told me it was stupid made me realise even more so, that life pans out the way it's meant to.

Crack the </Code> for... Confidence
Nearly everyone wishes they were more confident at some point in their life. In this age of constant social media, it is more difficult than ever to be confident 24/7. With the abundance of haters and trolls on the internet it can be nerve-racking to post a selfie without making the "right" face or without editing it so much that you are nearly unrecognizable. That is not true happiness or confidence, that is attempting to change to the mold you think will make you perfect. Guess what? You are already made perfectly the only thing you have to do is embrace it instead of changing it.

How to Keep Track of Your Own Deadlines, To Do Lists, and Productivity Logs
Keeping track of your own deadlines happens when you make a deadline list as I’m about to do for myself. To Do Lists constitute a brain dump of everything you need to get done while then breaking it down into smaller lists. To do lists only work if you have a schedule on an Excel file that tells you what you are doing with each two-hour block you give yourself, whether it is two hours or fifteen minutes. I give myself two hours. Time management is really easy and doesn’t involve looking at the clock every ten minutes. Time management is about using the greatest resource anybody has to your advantage. This huge resource is time.

How Changing My Perspective Changed My Entire Life
"Will I remember this day 10 years from now?" This is a question I often ask myself, thinking what have I done today that will help me remember this day 10 years from now. Whenever I ask anyone in my family about their teenage years, all they remember is what type of person they were back then. They don't necessarily remember the individual moments, or the times they felt the happiest. Does that mean that they haven't done anything worth remembering? I guess that's the answer I'll never know. All I know, however, is that I don't want to end up in the same place as them.
