Dear Sixteen-Year-Old Me
Dear sixteen-year-old me, I know you think you're just waiting for your life to begin, you keep saying to yourself that first you have to graduate high school, figure out a career path to follow, and somewhere along the way you're going to get married to your amazing boyfriend and live happily ever after.

J's Journal
When you get confused sometimes, it is hard to be solid in anything that you are doing. I find myself looking and reaching out to people, activities, and experiences to fill that void and they never work. I feel so overwhelmed sometimes and I know there are others who feel the same way that I do or are going through similar emotions. I want to create this journal, blog, post, however you want to call it so that I can express and release tension I have within myself, allow others to connect with me and to see a way that can change their perspective and/or give them an opportunity to build themselves and their peers to another level. I want everyone to be entertained, enlightened, informed, supported, and peaceful while reading any content that I publish. Below are the topics and the directions I plan to address and speak on throughout this process and journey.

Happiness 101: The Right Way to Deal with Stress
I'm the most stressed out person I know. I mean, it's so easy for anyone to constantly worry about the future and forget about the present. "What if I don't get into medical school?" or "What if I'll die alone?" or "What if I get fired tomorrow?": Our minds are always pushing us into a state of doubt and of perpetual worry that literally does not change the outcome. Worrying ruins the journey. The real question we should be asking ourselves is: "Why generate thousands of hypothetical scenarios when we could just transform what's upsetting us into something that uplifts us?"

Live Your Life—Unleashed!!!
The image of a leash spoke volumes today. Leashes of leather and steel, of nylon and elastic. Leashes that offer owners a tight rein on their pets, leashes that give the animal the illusion of freedom. Today I want to talk about the "leashing" of one the most basic human traits, passion.

A Glass of Wine
August, 27 2018, six years ago today, I sat on a plane for the first time, flying from India to Canada. I wasn't scared, I wasn't unhappy for leaving everyone behind; I guess I wasn't excited either! I was just going where my destiny was taking me. Thinking—hundreds of feet above the ground—sitting in a plane about everyone I left behind, just thinking! There were no feelings attached to this thinking. I was looking outside the window trying to see through the clouds the land I was leaving behind. I couldn't see anything just lights in that dark night. I tried to sleep, but I couldn't. I was up all the time, an entire flight from Amritsar, India to Doha in Qatar. I had a connecting flight from there to Frankfurt and then from Frankfurt to Toronto. I guess this is how cheap flights work, a lot of halts! I was fine with it. Sitting in a chair for 14 hours would have made my legs jam. It was for the first time for me to see so many people around me who were not Indian. A strange feeling it was, but it didn't bother me, as I said I wasn't excited. But why was that? Why wasn't I excited? Just because of regret, leaving a girl behind, the girl I fell in love with when I was 14, the girl who I studied with since I was nine, the girl with who I use to walk with every day to school and back, the girl to whom I swore to love forever. I don't know till this day why I wasn't excited that time or scared.

Smiley Egg
I took this picture over two years ago. As I had recently learned about Vocal and how you use pictures to help tell a story, I thought I would look to past memories and see what I could find and share with the world—at least, to anyone who would watch. At the time of the picture, I was a senior in high school. I had a lot going on: I was wrapping up my last year at a crappy school district, I was thinking about college and my future, as well as worrying about my grandmother, who was sick at the time.

Getting to the Gym
Everyone has this moment in their lives. The, "I should probably start going to the gym," moment. For some it may be easy to just say to themselves, "You know what? I'm going to go to the gym today"—and actually follow through with it, but for others, it may be the biggest struggle.

Time to Achieve Those Dreams
If you want something bad enough, you will do anything to achieve it. If you want change, you will do anything for change. When you are tired of living paycheck to paycheck, barely able to survive, then you will do whatever it takes to change that.

If I Had Known Then
Dear teenage me, Slow down, sweet child, there is no rush to grow up so fast. You have your entire life to be a boring adult. I wish someone had told me how important these pre-adulthood years were. Well maybe they did, but I knew everything then.

Revival...
A wise human once told me, "A person can die at 30 but be buried at 73," she then waited so what she had said could really sink in. She proceeded to explain that when people become used to routine, days seem to pass you by and yet you continue to wake up, go to the same lousy job working 9 to 5, come home, eat a crappy meal and just sit there while the silence becomes so loud, it eventually makes you have a mental breakdown. She said that people are so unmotivated to make a change, but not for lack of effort. But for FEAR.

Stress
Stress! Stress is a mental or emotional strain which is caused from extreme pressure or tension. Stressing is the way that your body tells you that enough is enough and it just can't take anymore. Stress puts pressure on you mentally and physically. There are so many different things that can cause stress. The list is endless, and what may be stressful to you may not be stressful to me; everyone is different and everyone handles stress very differently. Some people can be stressed out when there is a major change in their life, like losing a job or starting a new school.
