8 WAYS TO HELP YOU STAY PRODUCTIVE DURING LOCKDOWN
Staying productive during this period of lockdown can be hard if your quarantining, self-isolating, or enduring the lockdown alone. The reality is, I only started to embrace the extra quiet time of everyday life while trying to find new ways to keep myself busy. As much as we all miss our ‘normal life,’ we might as well make the most out of the free time we do have.

Make Self Quarantine Work For You
It's one thing to stay home by choice, but staying home because you HAVE to is a whole other animal entirely. What makes it even harder is you have no idea how long you'll be doing this for. At least when you got grounded growing up you knew how long you were grounded for. You had that internal countdown keeping track of how long until your life would go back to normal.

Let’s get through this together!
I’m writing this to everyone in the world right now. It’s taken me a good month to finally have something click in my head, but it’s happened. It randomly happened at 11pm as I sat down and thought about what the year was like on January 1st. This year for many people was supposed to be their big year, and now something has taken over that most likely won’t happen on this scale ever again.

Lockdown Hacks
Being under a kind of 'house arrest' definitely isn't part of our 'normal'. Lockdown and isolation are forcing us to stop, be still, and ultimately live at a completely different pace and in a completely different world to what we're used to. If you're anything like me - and by that I mean a total exrovert - this is probably your worst nightmare. How do you survive without being able to go and talk to other humans?! If you're an introvert, being your own best friend for a couple months must look a little more like paradise! But for those of you who, like me, are finding it harder to navigate the weird loneliness of lockdown-land, here's a few simple hacks that have helped slow down the process of me turning into some kind of crazy hermit lady.

5 Mindful Activities To Try In Quarantine
Let's face it. We're all stuck inside for the foreseeable future and probably feeling overwhelmed and anxious. While this is an inconvenience, and it's easy to focus on the negative, there many ways to feel grounded in uncertain times. The first step is to get in touch with your emotions and know that whatever you are feeling is valid. Next, it's time to begin some inward reflection and maybe even pick up a few new hobbies.

Why I find writing so difficult
I’ve written on and off since I was a little girl but back then it was so much easier. I was writing for no one but myself and even if someone did happen to read my work it never bothered me. At 19 I'm now so aware of myself and how others might perceive me that writing has become difficult. It’s become harder to write uninhibited and that is the ultimate goal. To write what you want and how you want without fear of other peoples’ opinions. I’ll often find myself writing a piece that I adore but will eventually render unreadable once I start thinking about all the people reading it. This seems like a pretty valid reason though. As with all the other *normal* points like the quest for perfectionism and endless drafts that never amount to anything much. But then there are all the other, irrational, seemingly pointless things that make writing so difficult for me.

Stand up and voice your opinion, even when you lose and it's a no, change history for years to come.
So, I applied for a leadership position a month ago. I enjoyed the organisation, and its path was something I could relate to. I was nervous about submitting an application. Yet, throughout the year, I was a part of many sports teams and a couple of clubs. Other older students had seen me display more than the necessary skills in sports and other societies. I had the experience to continue and do well in that role. For reasons that I still don't think are backed up, I didn't get it. I received the 'no' email, the one that begins with 'Unfortunately..'. So, I felt strongly about it. For me, I've had this feeling often enough. I also don't like to stand still. It's frustrating, but I want to channel that passion into fixing it or moving on to something else. So I've been writing an email to reply to them. After initially receiving the email, I was okay: shocked, but okay. Later that night, I started to doubt myself and found it difficult to fall asleep. I then drafted a reply email as I lay in bed and typed it on my phone. I know that for me when I think about something at night, I'm likely to not remember it, so I write it down anywhere.

WOMEN WHO INSPIRE
Women Who Inspire Background Alexus was born in Fresno, California to her mother, Tracy on April 6th, a leader was born. From that moment, she was destined to become greatness. In her childhood, she had to love herself more and more each day from trauma that she endured as a young girl. She hoped that the walk would be full of life. It’s not easy, yearning for self love, removing self doubt, and desiring to be on the right route. Ms. Hayes, is a bright and beautiful woman that made me understand why loving myself was so important. As her purpose became more clearer, she and her family moved to Atlanta, GA in 2008, it was the time to pour into self, give self a real chance, while having nothing to lose and everything to gain. She had to stop chasing this pain and add value to her name. Publishing and marketing her work while staying focused was the end goal. She had to find self-love and do the hard work now because she owed it to herself. She had to stop running from self love, give self a big hug, and run fearlessly into herself. She took action on self, self has won, not with defeat, but with a clear and defined seat. She set an example for her best friend Shanice, and it was okay to mourn and grief during the passing of her grandfather, while understanding this time is for her. She gave into self, soaked up self, and brought love to the forefront of her life. My best friend got back in tune with herself, all to the broken, all to the doubt, seeking self, telling self, this is it. She was getting herself together emotionally, physically, and mentally, no matter how long this process takes. She knew she couldn’t let herself or friends down, it was a bigger picture at hand.
