5 Things To Do When Anxiety Is Blocking Your Creativity
5 Things To Do When Anxiety Is Blocking Your Creativity I'd been at a complete creative standstill for about a week, without art or writing. Depression and anxiety had been wreaking havoc on my inner peace, which directly correlated to my creative output. My motivation had gone out the window, and all I wanted to do was curl into bed with the blinds shut. Miraculously, or not so miraculously, I cut that depression crap away with warrior machetes and have found myself again.

10 Things I Have Done To Not Go Clinically Insane During Lockdown
Well my friends, it is May 12, 2020 and the lockdown is still in place where I live in Canada. That means that we are still required to stay at home unless absolutely necessary - which is more than fair.

19 Things I learned in Quarantine before I turned 19
19 Things I learned in Quarantine before I turned 19 As a college student starting her first year in college, I never realized what I was giving up everyday when I commuted to and from my school, completed tests and papers and talked with my friends. Up until mid-march, I had been stuck in a monotonous routine of waking up, barely eating breakfast and hurrying to college. However, my mundane life came to a halt as the lockdown started and I was forced to learn and prepare myself for the future from a computer. Here are some things that I realized while procrastinating on my assignments.

Develop a Creation Bias Now
Stop the endless consumption and start creating! Trust me you'll thank me for it! Constant distraction and information overload is the constant state we are all in. We consume and we consume more without hardly creating anything (well we are not counting the fort you created with empty beer cans!). We have an innate need to consume and hoard. Opening tab after tab of articles and news, mindlessly spending hour after hour.

Calama's Recipe for a Lazy Day
We all have those days where we wake up with no idea what do, or, even if we do, we have no inclination to do it. We don’t feel like going anywhere, and all projects, chores, or hobbies on our list suddenly seem either daunting or uninteresting and the only thing we can stomach at that point is a day of nothingness, because if we didn’t, just maybe our brains would explode, or our anxieties would skyrocket beyond recovery. Maybe it’s because we are lazy, or maybe it’s just because our brain and body are telling us to take a chill pill to calm the queasiness of our busy schedules and fast-paced lives.

Better Days
“In rebuilding a broken world, we will have the chance to choose a less hurried life.” – Dr. Alan Lightman I baked cookies! That’s right, for the first time in over seven years, I baked homemade chocolate chip cookies. I was a little nervous because baking has never been my strength in the kitchen (probably because I am not good at following directions). But, guess what?! They turned out great – so great, in fact, that I am afraid to try again in case this time was a fluke or beginner’s luck. Although, my opinion of their quality might be influenced by my recent abandonment of a sugar-free, gluten-free lifestyle.
