humanity
Isn't it ironic that the very best of humanity is seen through the love and empathy we show to our pets?
7 things you learn when a pet passes
The journey over the rainbow bridge comes all too soon for our beloved animals. Life is cruel in that way, it takes your best friend after so few years together and leaves you to carry on like nothing’s changed. But everything has changed and there are several things they can definitely teach us.

The Cat
The therapist told me I should organize my thoughts, write them and reassemble them, he gave me this little black notebook to do that so here I am again smoking -again- leaning against this planter full of dead rotting flowers that no one tends to, in this crappy apartment complex outside my crappy apartment in this crappy episode of my lonely life.

Here's to you, Guinefort
Valeria Espinal saw the body of Guinefort laying in the street. The dog's butchered body had been in the street for a little over a week now, yet the stench of rot and decay was suprisingly absent. If it was not for the roses, prayer cards, rosaries, and other momento moris, one could easily mistake the pooch was just asleep, basking in the Dominican Republic sun. Valeria saw that one of the prayer cards said "Vaya con Dios, Guinefort." She sucked her teeth.

My Pet Ownership (Part 1)
I have had pets of various sorts throughout out my life, each one gave me love in its own unique way. It also taught me that caring for another being is not to be taken lightly, no matter the trials and tribulations, I experienced while they were with me.

Book on the Bus
“Henry” Tuesday, 3pm Ritz Café, Booth 4 This was the first entry Tomas saw when he picked up and opened that little black notebook he found on the bus. He filtered through the book trying to find any hints as to the owner, with full intentions of giving it to them, but he continued to see this similar theme throughout. Name, day of week, time, and location repeated page after page. Tomas was curious but could not find any kind of information about the owner. Even these mysterious entries had no real information. No phone numbers or email addresses, and it didn’t even appear to have any real names. Tomas wondered whether he should just drop the notebook in a trash bin or drop it off at the library near where he found it since he felt he could be of no help. Once he arrived at his office, he became distracted and stuffed the notebook in his laptop bag and swiftly forgot about it.

My New Roommates
Shamiel, Shamazel, Hasenpfeffer Incorporated. This famous line is from the 1976 – 1983 sitcom, Lavern and Shirley. A spinoff of the other famous sitcom, Happy Days. Lavern and Shirley follows the misadventures of two 20-something Milwaukee girls who work at the made up, Shotz Brewery. It basically followed the same pattern of Lucy and Ethel getting into mishaps and then solving them in 30 minutes, started by the legendary, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. I used to religiously watch the show when I was old enough to discover TV and when there were re-runs on every night of the week.
