A magical poem of the night

When day turns to night,

the light slowly crawls back into hiding,

lying in wait.

Shadows emerge, spreading across the land,

transforming everything into echoes of what it was,

a ghost of the living.

The land becomes stretches of silhouettes.

But then, something magical happens.

The moon appears.

The sky becomes a canvas,

each stroke a darker shade.

The blue begins to fade,

until it’s completely shrouded in silence.

Stars are painted, illuminating the blackness,

like tiny flickers scattered,

gleaming and casting the world in beauty.

It reflects on the surface of the water,

flaring up in an ocean of shadows.

The creatures of the day go to sleep,

and the creatures of the night awaken.

Secrets are shared,

stories are told.

Dreams begin,

and memories are stored.
