to our homeless friend

no self-promotion

your needs come last

you hide your pain

but I see it

we are experts at

sticking our smiles on

straight

after we've used them

several times

to hide behind

smiling is not as messy

after all

in all ways

you are beautiful

you are spontaneous

and so much fun

you want everyone

to feel special

to feel seen

to feel heard

God's own creation

fearfully and wonderfully

created

perfectly imperfect

but perfect
