Going Nowhere , But Home

A Collaboration Between Samantha Ciccone and Mike Singleton

By Mike Singleton πŸ’œ Mikeydred Published 4 years ago β€’ 1 min read

This is a collaboration between Samantha Ciccone and Mike Singleton , from a concept that came from a chat . We were talking traffic and Samantha said she would love to drive anywhere / nowhere but somehow end up at home. I've used "Going Home:Wild Theme" from "Local Hero" by Mark Knopfler as the lead in music, as for me it fits.

πŸš—πŸš—πŸš—πŸš—πŸš—πŸš—

Firmness is not only the tone but the grasp

Wheels are given the significant task

Asking for directions declare itself last

For words inside will paint the hidden path

πŸš—

The long straight road goes ever on and on

White lines guide you on your mystery way

Where are you going , and then who's to say

Driving towards a glowing setting sun

πŸš—

Will the road ever end, mile after mile

Driving and driving and never arriving

Morpheus calling , but sleep depriving

Dreaming of homecoming , cracking a smile

πŸš—

Then you see the sign , high above the road

Telling you that you are on your way home

After being so lost , nothing was owed

The map brought you back , no longer to roam

Away from the warmth and love in your abode

Finally here, you’re no longer alone
