Heartbroken

Journey

By Vicki LucasPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Broken hearts like shattered glass

You dwell to deeply on the past

The years gone by, the life you built

Balanced on a pile of silt

Slipping, sliding till it crashed

The last 5 years gone in a flash

Your broken heart, lies on the ground

Little pieces will be found

Over time you’ll put them together

But right now it feels like never

There was no care, the lies spilled out

Of the little liars mouth

And now your heart is on the floor,

Maybe you should’ve done more

Hold high your head, collect yourself

Don’t hide your heart back on that shelf

Wear it exactly where it was, not for them but just because

You need to struggle through the pain

You need to dance out in the rain

Clarity will come again, and with it ease this awful pain

The one you loved and then you lost

It always comes at such a cost

Before you know it you’re whole again

Just hang on in there my dear friend
