ICE in Minnesota
For the Public Announcement challenge
Do not stand in the way of ICE agents!
Do not observe them, do not record them,
Do not protest their presence in your streets!
They are there to help secure our border
With Canada. Deep on the southern state side,
In the city of Minneapolis.
And to keep those brother-marrying aliens
In check, scared, or better yet deported
Back to where they came from.
ICE is better equipped than you.
They have guns, pepper spray, masks,
Shields, and toned-window vehicles.
Like gray astronauts on ice
They command the space.
Do what they say,
Do not stand in the way,
Lest you get three bullets
In your back or your face.
They are just doing their job
Of extracting voter registration rolls
For their Dear Leader not to lose midterms.

After the Storm
After the storm of winter snow there sat a small bear by the name Ted, of course. He loves the snow and likes to roll around in it making all sorts of trails and whatever he has a mind to do. He wondered where all the people are, but in a way, he is hoping that they are all snug in the homes maybe drinking hot chocolate-one of his favorite drinks with mini-marshmallows and eating something homemade for he likes this winter wonderland all to himself to romp and play and maybe even catch some fish down by the river.

Crazy!!! But a sad truth!
So scary and sad!! Why are they not in Texas, where that makes the most sense to take out illegals? I just visited, and I was told everyone carries guns there. The truth is, that makes me nervous, and I could never live there. My 70-year-old sister-in-law was reminded by her brother to take her gun with her on an outing she was talking about while I was there last week. She said all her friends are Mexican. She has 2 doctor friends who are black. She is a fundamental Christian who voted for Trump. I only know two people in MN, who I see regularly, that carry a gun, and now I am worried about them, and their permit to carry apparently doesn't mean anything - age 20 & his 27-year-old brother (former military).

Great job, Lana! I am so angry about this. Murdering bastards. You nailed it with satire and truth. It is a vendetta in Minneapolis against the Gov. On to other blue states. Texas has many yet they are running Gestapo there and it is not because Texans are more peaceful. They all need to resign. #fullprosecution Good luck in challenge
Lana, it breaks my heart. I'd already read their words before reading yours and I wept. The Minnesotans who continue to show up to protect and witness have my utmost respect.
It looks like we are all having similar thoughts. How wouldn't we? The world has transformed into a theatrical stage and it's hard to believe this is the 21st century when you see the involution of the human species. Not to mention a freaking toddler with the power to destroy us all. I simply can't get how no one has done something to stop him, to get him in a psychiatric institution, and return life of us all to some sort of normality. The assassination of that poor nurse is something I find hard to comprehend. Who will be held accountable? Who will go to prison with a life sentence or end of life for his murder? Anyone? No one?
I haven’t read your poem yet. But the video at the top really impacted me. I am so hurt right now by this. It leaves a lump in my stomach. What makes it worse is we have a dirty president who gets involved in these issue and tries to sway public opinion with outright obvious lies - how dare he! He is a dirty man - I am sorry to say that - but it is the truth and every single American should be ashamed to call this man President. Just like how he tried to sway public opinion on the murder if Renee Good when the videos (from every angle) showed her turning to the right (away from the ICE criminals). Just like how he tried to turn George Floyd into a criminal. Just like he tried to get the entire country to hate Colin Kaepernick simply because he exercised his constitutional right to freedom of speech. Now, it’s getting worse because people are being beat up and murdered in the streets on a daily basis - and the bruises, broken bones, and blood are all in the hands of donald trump, kristi noem, and all the others that are complacent. I will come back to read your poem and further comment after taking care of my dear Isabel, my mom.
He will lose. The people will win. And Canada supports you. 🇨🇦
