love is a tree

submission for the "Love in 50 words" challenge

love is a tree

a tree, ancient, and ever growing;

its roots bury itself in the earth

and refuse to let go.

from this tree sprouts forth a forest,

small until it expands beyond the horizon line,

and the upper branches kiss the iridescent sky,

like a mother tenderly kisses her newborn child's forehead.

    Love as a tree? So sweet! It’s got deep roots and endless growth, reaching for the sky with that perfect balance of strength and tenderness. Gorgeous!
